“decent hotel, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

This is a comfortable, clean hotel right on the edge of the pedstrian precinct with all the shops, restaurants etc.

Our room was spacious and well equipped and evidently brand new. I can only assume it's just been refurbished, having seen previous reviews about old rooms, so perhaps it's best to check when you book.

We were on the 4th floor, at the back, so noise wasn't a problem with the windows shut.

Underground parking is available just up the road, under their sister hotel the Penz. 13euro overnight - a must if the forecast is for snow and you don't want to dig your car out.

Overall, a very decent hotel at a reasonable price, I'd recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor at the back.

“maximilian Hotel in Innsbruck was quaint”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Though we were there in June and they had no air conditioned room, it was very pleasant. I admit I was terrified at first when I heard there was no a/c, because I am from the south and it gets very hot here! We often run our air conditioning almost year round here. Nevertheless, It felt more like being at home in our rooms and we really enjoyed our stay there. Walking around town from our hotel was really enjoyable too! Though our rooms did not actually connect, our family was put on a secluded hallway with a locking hall door that had only our two rooms, so we were able to keep our bedroom doors open, and it felt like adjoining rooms.

Room Tip: Though our rooms did not actually connect, we were put on a secluded hallway with a locking hall doo...

““Thank goodness that we stayed for one night only””
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

My husband and I stayed here one night while on tour with Globus (European Tapestry). All I can say is “thank goodness that it was only for one night” and that pretty much sums up what the rest of the tour was thinking. Don’t get me wrong, there was two positives out of so many negatives – the close proximity to key sights in Innsbruck and the hotel cleanliness But that’s it.

Looking at the recently renovated small foyer/reception area, you would never guess the mess that awaited you upstairs. Once opening the door we found ourselves transported to the 60’s or 70’s that is how long it has been since their rooms have been renovated. Old floral carpet, single beds (a tall man could definitely not fit in it), floral light fittings, floral curtains and a bathroom that could only fit one person inside. Unfortunately, you could not describe the rooms as “quaint” in a positive way. Also, the hotel backs onto a restaurant so there is a lot of noise late into the night. Sometimes the lamps would flicker. Throughout the night you can hear the other floor guest use the bathroom. Etc etc.

If you reviewing this hotel for a longer stay than one night and are seeking more modern amenities and service from a hotel - please do yourself a favour and find another hotel. But, if you are staying for only one night (with or without a tour) this will do the job.

i dont like this hotel , the furniture are old and there is no A/C so it will be hot on summer and if you open the window you will hear the noise from the street because it located in a main street realy poor sleep quality , the only + side is the location nothing else

Room Tip: dont set in a room which is face the street find a nother room if you can

“Spartan but spotless”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011

This is a very simple and basic hotel, with a reasonable price and spotless, albeit smallish and a bit spartan, rooms. The location is very good to explore the city, staff is friendly and helpful if they are requested information.
