“Good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I have stayed in this gasthof for Christmas and New Year for skiing and snowboarding. I love Innsbruck so I did not mind to stay in any hotel, the only thing I worred was money, so I have choosen this hotel, which had quite a good good price for such a pick dates as New Year and Christmas.
We had a late flight, so we were in hotel at midnight. Thank God, I notified the hotel in advance that we will arrave late, and I have been told that the hotel is not open at night, so we had to find a key in a secret place.
The hotel design was really nice and authentic, while the room was a bit disappointing. The room was big, but there were not a lot of special in it. The bathroom was very small, the bedding needed to be changed, as it was too old.
The breakfast was normal and standart.
The good thing about skiing and snowboarding is that you can tell to staff that you are planning to go skiing and they order a skibuss, which is regular and on time at 08:30. Also in the hotel there is a ski room, which is spacious, but cold.
The location is nice, as it is a quiet area, and it takes just about 5-10 min walk to get to center.

“Good value for money and close to city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Nice, spacious & clean family run hotel. Nice place overlooking the river Inn. Bus leaves nearby for the city-centre of Innsbruck. No airco but what do you expect in a country where they better can buy a heater. What is that with other reviewers that always complain about lack of airco. If you want air-conditioning then go to the Hilton. Other then that, the hotel is fine.

“Non-smoking rooms? I don't think so”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

So, this hotel does provide non-smoking rooms, but there's no point as the smoke from the bar will come up the stairs into your room anyway. Revolting. At least the room was clean although the decor was old and furnishings worn. There was a fair bit of noise from the street although I was able to sleep through it. The room was stinking hot when I went in so I had to air it.
Internet is available in the lobby for 1 Euro per 10 mins. It's next to the reception desk, partly hidden by a potted plant. The keyboard and mouse are absolutely filthy.
The breakfast was good with canned fruit, great yoghurt, marble cake and hot chocolate in addition to the usual continental pastries etc. No iron available.
I can't stand cigarette smoke - if not for that, I could overlook the other things and give a higher rating but being forced to breathe in that stuff for a non-smoker is invasive and disgusting.

“Tour Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

Our Cosmos tour hotel in Innsbruck for one night. The rooms are very small (with even smaller bathrooms). No air conditioning and couldn't open the window as we were right on the main road and the traffic noise was too loud with window open. Meal was a traditional affair. Hotel has a feeling of being a family run business. Some of the service was friendly but other experiences over the evening weren't as friendly.

“Value for money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

Good things:
1. Value for money
2. Decent and clean rooms, ours was very small room, with two double beds opposite each other.
3. Next to the river and 15 minutes walk from old town - city center

Not so good things:
1. Distance from city center in a small town like Innsbruck. Its also 30 mins walk from railway or bus station
2. Rooms are a bit hot and you need to open the window. Once you open the window the road traffic is very noisy for a good sleep. we are used to the noise but a light sleeper can have major issues
3. Breakfast was very average. My husband loved cornflakes and everything. But I found the bread stale and hard. I am a vegeterian so anyways there is nothing much I can comment on food, but for a non vegeterian it is just decent
4. The Bar & dining area closed at 8 or 9 pm which was too early.

TIP:
If you are a vegeterian looking for cheap food in Innsbruck, then visit the McDonalds at their Railway station. For just 1 Euro you get awesome vegeterian burger.

Room Tip: View is limited to the road and the river across it.
