We spent one night at this hotel and I thought it was pretty good value for Western Europe. Our arrival at the property was processed quickly and we were allowed to check-in early. The staff was very friendly and even recommended a good cheap restaurant to eat at which we quite enjoyed.
The hotel itself is really nothing special - the rooms are furnished moderately including a desk that held the TV and some magazines. We had two beds pushed together with a nightstand on each side, and a rack for one piece of luggage beside the closet. The pillows were extremely soft (therefore almost flat when used) and the duvet was quite heavy. This brings me to the first problem I had with the room - there was no individual AC or heating controls. This can be common in Europe however I found the room stifling hot at night with no air flow and an outside temperature of around 20oC. We did not want to keep the balcony door open at night either because the balconies beside us were easily accessible from ours. Therefore, I had a poor nights sleep - a feeling that is never the greatest.
The other thing worth mentioning in a negative context was the bathroom. The door was a sliding door that didn't close off the bathroom from the room. I'm not fond of sliding doors in bathrooms ever due to the lack of privacy. The shower head was also broken, so showering upright was not possible. Lastly, there was almost no counter space for any items in the bathroom.
Now for some of the positives: internet was available in the bar on their computer for free or you can purchase an hour for 1E, which is a great price. The breakfast was also a good value at 7E, it even included bacon and eggs. There was a nice garden patio you could use to enjoy the food or even a book during the day. And as I mentioned before, the staff was incredibly friendly. The lounge only serves pizza at night, so we relied on the staff's suggestion for an alternative place.
Location wise, I'd say it's not the greatest place in Innsbruck. It is the opposite direction from the old town/tourist sites - about a 25 minute walk away. While we found other parts of the city charming and peaceful, I felt ours was a bit run down. Nonetheless, we never felt unsafe in our area - it was just a bit quiet. The train station is about 15 minutes by foot, or a cheap cab ride away.
Overall, a perfectly acceptable place to stay for a night or two. I wasn't fond of the poor climate control of the hotel but I believe we had an unusually warm day in September to stay during. Prices in the hotel and surrounding area were great value. I'd consider staying here again unless price wasn't an issue in which case I'd probably choose somewhere closer to the centre of the city.
