“Family owned with staff who genuinely take pride in good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

We stayed over the new year period and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. After one or two previous concerning reviews we decided to upgrade to the swarovski suite and we were definitely pleased with the decision - wow what a enormous bathroom suite, jacuzzi, body shower and sparkling with swarovski crystals everywhere. The food was outstanding and the new years eve gala night was well run topped with views of fireworks over Innsbruck from the roof garden terrace. Putting all that to one side it is the staff and their loyalty and passion for good service that really make the difference. If I have to try and find a negative I would say it is their reception area one first floor it could probably do with a upgrade but don't let that put you off going.

“terrible dinner in an austrian cellar. Complete rip-off”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

We went to this hotel's restaurant for a "gala" new year's eve dinner. This was based on promotional information on the hotel's website. The website is actually very high quality, sadly that is where the quality of this story ends.

On arrival we sensed something was wrong as there seemed two separate dinner's. One upstair's and a buffet down stairs in the cellar. We were booked for the later and were greeted by an empty cellar room with approx 50 covers.

We were told to be there at 7.30 pm prompt as that is when the programme started but we were first there and then couple by couple came down and looked equally confused as if they were also having an out of body experience or "were in the wrong sketch".

The live music was an 1990's cd player which only seemed to have one cd. There are only so any time's a person should listening to "its raining men" ! and that does not need to be be all on the same evening unless you are in guantamo bay. In fact on reflection that might have not been so bad.

The buffet while ok was not worth the €95 we paid per person. Plus with drinks on top we spent approx €280 for 90 mins of hell. We were told that live music would start at 9pm. When we did find the band we also found the real gala dinner where a band was playing on the first floor. At midnight the hotel was going to open its roof terrace to allow the guest to watch the fireworks bring in 2012. We could not last another 5 minutes and retreated out as quietly as possible.

I think the reality is that this hotel over sold its gala dinner and tried to squeeze a few more bookings out by also using the cellar area, however the difference in quality was very transparent. Management must have known this because everyone in the cellar had cleared out by 9pm.

I dont know what the hotel itself is like but if it is as varied as the gala dinner I would suggest you think twice unless you are a keen fan of the weather girls and "its raining men" but you could save yourself a couple of hundred euros and buy it on itunes!

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your evening in our historic vaulted cellar.
Due to the overwhelming demand for our New Years Eve Gala Night, the hotel opened up the doors to other event spaces in the hotel. This was clearly communicated at reservation.
Indeed it is challenging to meet everyone’s music taste. The life band with dance floor that was playing international music (the dance floor was open to all of our guests). Unfortunately it was rainy and cloudy that evening so it was hard to see the fireworks from the 6th floor roof terrace.

“My favourite hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

My wife and I have stayed here twice in both a romantic room and also the Kaiser Maximillian Suite. We think it is a fantastic hotel with wonderful rooms, friendly staff, a great restaurant/bar and a very relaxing spa. We can't wait until we come again. I am sure there are cheaper places to stay in Innsbruck but we won't bother looking because this place is just terrific.

Room Tip: The romantic rooms all have balconies and mountain views and are well worth the supplement.

“Too much money for what it is”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2011

We liked this hotel and we must say the personnel was always very helpful and kind with us. Spa relaxing, nice and clean. But we wouldn't go back because it's too expensive compared to what it offers to his customers.

“Very nice hotel with helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2011

We spent 3 nights here at the end of June and it was great. Everyone from the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very nice and spacious. We had 2 rooms and one of the rooms was warm the first night (it was a suite and the AC just couldn't cool downt he bedroom). We discussed this with the hotel staff the next day and they were able to find us another room which was much better. I was impressed with how they took care of us. We ate dinner at their restaraunt on the roof and that was very good also. If we go back to Innsbruck we will stay here again.

No wireless in the rooms but it is available in the lobby. Ethernet cable in rooms but doesn't help with an iPad. So I just sat in the lobby to use the wireless.
