when we arrived was early in the morning checking was very easy the man on the desk was very helpful, when we woke the next morning found room was light spacious well equipted, breakfast was amazing !!!. stepping outside the hotel my mouth dropped stunnning views of the mountians,hotel was in a great location close to the centre and close to the train station and bus stops. i loved this hotel would defo go back.!!

I stayed in Goldene Krone for about a week around september 2010 and was not pleased.

- We had reserved a parkingspot for our rental car but the staff said that they "didn't find the extra info in our reservation". After a long talk the receptionist made the reservation and when we went to park our car almost all of the parking spots were empty remaining like that for the whole week

- In our room the flat screen tv had fallen of the wall and none at the reception made any effort for fixing it when I told them about it

- After a long day of hiking in the mountains we went back to the hotel and the rooms door had fallen off it's hinges. The cleaner lady had gone in and the weight of the door had ripped the top hinge off. Thank god that no one got hurt and our luggage was not stolen.

- After the door incident we were moved to another "better" room where the bathroom smelled moist and hidden behind a painting there were some bare electrical wires sticking through the wall! (the painting in the picture below)

- I went to ask for a compensation of the "ChangeRoomNow!" incident from the receptioninst and there was a this young girl that was acting really cocky and she said that our compensation was the ever "better room"

- The receptionists smoked cigarettes in the hotels breakfast area and the stench was terrible

- The lower floor was being renovated without any dust covers and the renovation dust spread around the hallway and the lobby. Plus this was not informed beforehand when making our reservation.

Have a pleasant stay at the Goldene Krone!

The room was small and window opened to a very noisy street. It was warm and after taking a shower the room was humid, the air did not move at all.
The bathroom with toilet was tiny. It reminded me toilets in a ferry´s cabin - you need to step into it, it was not at the same level with the rest of the room. It was like a small cabinet with a tiny sink and bath, toilet.
Also, there was no convenient way to enter and move around with heavy luggage - no inclined planes for small stairs! I had to carry a really heavy suitcase up the stairs by hand and even if I asked the check in person did not come to help me with it.
Breakfast room had a really stong smell because peaople had been smoking there before.
There is nothing horribly wrong with the place, but it is not for people who like comfort and luxury.

When we checked in only one of the beds were made, and there were only towels for one. We told the staff, but had to wait nearly an hour to get more towels. After a terrible night - hot and noisy, there were no arircon, so we had to leave the window open, and ther were trafic and people shouting and so on all the night - my daughter complained that her bed was bad. And it realy was - ther were a big hole in the bottom and it must have been very uncomfortable. The girl in the reception only shrugged and said "sorry" when we complained. Breakfast was OK - a small range of food, but it tasted good.
