“So nearly got top marks...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2011

We stayed for one night in this hotel as part of a Cosmos tour around Europe in April 2011.

The hotel is a little way out of the centre of Innsbruck, and is unfortunately located right opposite an industrial estate. However, we were told that the hotel had been there for 30 years and so I suspect the industrial estate came later! If you can look over the top of the ugly buildings, the views from the balconies out towards the mountains are spectacular.

The hotel is presently undergoing some renovation works and there was a warning sticker up on the wall by the lift, apologising for any inconvenience. We weren't disturbed at all, but this may be because it was Easter weekend and also because we arrived late afternoon and left very early the following morning.

Our room was one of the ones which had been renovated and although it was small, it was really nicely done. Except... Whoever had cut the glass/plastic for the shower door hadn't cut it long enough, the result of which was a sodden bathroom floor after I'd taken a shower! Other minor niggles were no tissues in the bathroom and no face flannels either. Just small things, but they're what stopped this hotel from getting top marks, in my opinion.

We had an included meal here, which was adequate. There was soup with shredded pancake in, which was a tad bizarre, but the salad was delicious and the main course was fine. Breakfast was nice as well.

After dinner we spent some time in the newly refurbished bar, which we loved. There was great music playing and the barman was extremely friendly and helpful.

All in all, a really nice little hotel!

“Austrotel, Innsbruck, Austria”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 April 2011

We went on a group tour to Europe with an experienced guide from India. After 3 days stay in Itlay, we drove down from Itlay to Austrotel Innsbruck. Good comfortable rooms. We enjoyed our one day stay in the Hotel. Nice European breakfast in the morning. Free parking for guests. Good Indian restaurant available in town for those who would like Indian meals.

“AUSTEROTEL IS HOTEL WITH MORE THAN 4 *”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 April 2011

We remained four days. Rooms are small but clean and beautiful. The staff is very friendly, always ready to help. The food is unique, for an amazing selection of breakfast: a lot of fresh fruit, excellent coffee, juices, yogurt, homemade jams, several kinds of bread ... dinner with 3 menus - excellent salad bar with all possible vegetables. The location is near the center, making it possible to walk to nearby shopping centers that we didn't visit. Good connection with skiing at nearby ski slopes, low-cost packages. He wanted a good reputation, showing a number of transit guests (many Japanese).

“Excellent service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2011

I stayed here as part of an Inghams package. Good value overall. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Excellent customer service, especially at the bar and Chrisopher at reception. The only criticism would be that it's based in an industrial park some 30 mins walk from town. This is a bit of a pain - a taxi one way is around 10 euro, bus 1.80 Euro. Ski bus goes into town every monrning in season.

“Good value holiday hotel !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2011

I was surprised to see that the hotel is really a good deal for a short stay in Innsbruck. The rooms are not big or luxury but recently and nice renovated. The hotel bar is nice and warm. The staff is ok. Breakfast is medium. Parking is large and free to use. The reception and the restaurant are the only things that need to be updated . Is situated 2,5 km from the citycenter and very close to DEZ Shoping Mall. Overall a very good&cheap choice for a short stay in Innsbruck.
