My first criteria is the location as I have to take an early train. Besides, I planned to have a day trip to Hallstatt by train. This hotel is quite closed to train station but with a more reasonable price than those chain hotels.

Though the lobby seems a bit old but the theme rooms we stay are recently renovated and I'm satisifed. In the room, you will have iPhone docking (can play music) and also Nespresso coffee machine (with charge).

Most of their staff are very nice & friendly, what they recommend us on restaurants & sightseeing places are good. They even help us to make reservation with the restaurants.

The breakfast is good enough, at least better than those I've tried in Germany.

I would recommend people who need to take early train or arrive by train at night, and those who not only visit Salzburg but also day trips to other places near Salzburg by train. Otherwise, of course you should pick another one in new or old town.

We stayed here for 2 nights but did not like it because there is no heating system except an air-condition which was not enough to heat the room. Internet connection is very bad. There is a restaurant in downstairs but the service in this restaurant was awful. There was no ice machine in the hotel and the restaurant says they don`t have ice!!!

We chose this hotel because it was about 3 minutes from the train station, as my husband and I were traveling from Prague by train. On arrival we were "greeted" by a lady receptionist who never smied at all (but she did smile and was friendly towards "white" guests).My husband and I just ignored it.We were there to see Salzburg, not for her smile anyway!

Our room was spacious and clean, facing the road but the carpet was old,worn- out and stained. And the room was just next to the lifts and we could hear its noise everytime it was used. Breakfast was good, and there was a lovely lady who greeted us cheefully every morning.

The bathroom door though was "see-through" glass. That was fine by me as I was with my husband. But if you are travelling with a friend, unless you're ok doing a full monty in front of her or him, you would'nt like it.

The hotel itself is quite a walk, about 20 minutes to the main tourist areas. So after a long day of sightseeing, you still have to drag yourself another 20 minutes ( or maybe 30 as this time you don't have the energy anymore) to reach the hotel.

If you want a safe and clean place to stay, and near the train station,then this hotel is fine.If you want to be near the main attractions of Salzburg, book somewhere else.

We stayed in Salzburg on our way from Venice to Munich and enjoyed it very much. We booked 4 rooms in the Annexe of the hotel however when we arrived they gave us 4 rooms in the main building. The rooms were spacious and we loved the decor. Each floor had a different theme which was great. The breakfast was amazing with a buffet with lots of choices.
The staff is well trained, very attentive and friendly.
It took approx. 15 minutes to walk to the center of Salzburg which is very nice.
