Arrived at this hotel after staying in Vienna. Upon arrIval was greeted by non smiling staff exception of one, who was lovely. Given room that had a bed that Heidi would have loved as a child! Went downstairs asked for another room, was given a large double room with comfy bed and white linen for extra euros per night. After that all was great! Location perfect, room large and clean, views stunning. Breakfast varied and generous. Lots of tour material on hand, reception will book everything you need. Wi-fi only in lounge area so not very private if you have to use theirs. Lots of cafes and restaurants around the corner. . Was there for 3nights. Salzburg fabulous and my lovely quiet room meant I didn't care about anything.

If you want a traditional hotel in a good location for a fair price with breakfast, this is a good choice. The rooms match the area, however the bathroom has been nicely updated. There is a small parking lot right around the corner from the hotel. Wifi is free but only available in the lobby. We loved Salzburg and the Xmas markets. If we ever go back I'd chose a different a hotel for a different experience. I would however eat in the attached Italian restaurant again - the food was amazing! Also, great little soap shop across the street from the hotel.

How this hotel has a four star rating is a mystery since it is three star at best and in many respects two star. From the outset the man serving on reception was chaotic ,rude and unhelpful . We planned to stay three nights but checked out after one and on checkout were told that the receptionist was simply filling in .But despite this we would not have stayed as apart from the bathroom, the hotel is unrennovated and the decor is a tasteless mish mash of odd furniture, crammed with tizzy nick nacks and our room reeked of stale cigarette smells despite claiming it was a non smoking room ! In short the hotel had a distinct amateurish quality about it .

I was given a very small typical Mozart-like room at this hotel.I guess no one knew either I was six foot tall or a midget...but there are rules concerning the square meters attributed to a standard 3 stars or more European hotel and, according to them, you will have to pay a higher price. Apart from this, breakfast is great, so are the people working there and the location is really fantastic.
