I have stayed in many hotels in Europe and I would rate Hotel Lasserhof up there with the best. A fairly small hotel, the service was excellent. Our room was large and airy and the beds and pillows were fantastically comfortable! Breakfast was a good spread - not just the usual small variety of hams, cheeses and bread. Situated very conveniently to the central railway station, the hotel is in the 'hub', but still retains a certain slightly 'out of the way' feel. The staff could all speak English and were all very helpful. I cannot sing this hotel's praises enough! My partner and I were very impressed indeed.

This is a terrific choice for a city centre hotel giving friendly and helpful service with excellent value. The rooms are a decent size, the breakfast is plentiful and the location is just minutes walk from the city centre and old town. Two small negatives - no tea making facilities in the rooms and the en suite shower and WC are constricted in space, but they are separate. Very happy after our recent third visit.

Very close (easily walkable) to Hauptbahnhof, so very handy for arrivals / departures by train and also good for buses to the airport. Good, free wifi and a decent included breakfast, with plenty of choice. The (single) room and shower were small, but warm and clean. It is a very easy walk into town. If you are looking for a way to save money there's no need to pay more for a hotel in the Aldstadt as Salzburg is small enough to do on foot from the Lasserhof. Of the 3 receptionists I met, all were efficient and only one needed a little time at the charm school, the other two were politeness itself.

The hotel is perfect for a few days, a weekend break or so, but perhaps not suitable for a long stay. There was a bit of noise apparent when others are coming and going and moving around in their adjacent rooms, but not too excessive.
