This hotel is a heritage hotel and is very close to many city attractions. We were 3 in a room and so the room was inadequate, abut otherwise for 2 it is quite spacious. Though other reviews said that it is noisy, we found it quite peaceful. The breakfast was quite enjoyable and the staff at the reception helped us plan our sightseeing tours. The internet connextion was good, and definitely this hotel is value for money.

I stayed 4 nights in this hotel. The rooms are very basic, the bathroom is small, quite clean, and sufficient maintenance. The good things: excellent breakfast with a broad variety, great location, and the hotel itself is cozy with free Wi-Fi everywhere. My room was in the rear side so it was quiet. In the bottom line I think it is a good value for money and a nice choice.

This hotel was ideal for a city break, it was 10 minutes walk from the Old Town, it was clean and comfortable, breakfast was very adiquate, staff were friendly and helpfull.

This hotel is awful. We would never, ever go back here. The only reason we booked to stay here is because the reviews at Tripadvisor were positive, so we trusted that. It is basic- yes, think 2 star. Whoever hands out the star rating system really needs to change that. This is 2 star at best. The bathroom floor and top of toilet covered in dark hairs- not ours. The bed was horrible. As soon as we sat on it- hard as a rock with the mattress being 3 inches thick and cheap as could be on a hard platform. Without going in to further detail as I don't want to waste another minute on this awful place- the room was awful, we didn't sleep at all the first night and I was down at reception at 7am telling the man that we didn't sleep and needed something better and he sent us to another room with mattress just as bad but along very noisy road. We were exhausted at this point so went down to breakfast, again having read reviews saying great breakfast and faced yet another disaster. The food was awful. The only hot things were scrambled eggs and bacon and I tasted both and couldn't eat anymore. The breads were stale and the coffee was undrinkable. At this point, my husband and I were both desperate to leave so we went online and booked a room at a 5 star hotel across the city. (a real 5 star!) We checked out at 9am from the Goldenes and ran for our lives. We were meant to stay 2 nights, we had paid for 2 nights and we lost our money but didn't care. Just got out of there as quickly as possible. It's cheap, cheap, cheap.
