I was there with my grandfather and grandmom.
So,we came there for a few days before Christmas because we wanted to attend those awesome Christmas fairs.
Well,at first i wanna say that if you're looking for good service-don't go there.It's not a 5* hotel at all!! Their first fail was when we arrived. We came there at about 2 PM and when we came up to reception administrator said that our rooms hadn't been ready yet. Are you kidding? This is a 5* hotel and we have to wait?Jeez
After HALF AN HOUR OF WAITING administrator finally said that the rooms had been ready.The next dissapointment was that our room was in the other house!And i'm seriously!But what is more,in order to get to that house you have to cross a small patch of street,then use elevator and finally come up on stairs. It wasn't difficult for me but i can't say the same about my grandparents. Also,if i'd forgot something in the room i would have to return which would have taken me 10 or more minutes.
The next day doorhandle has broken down (!). And administrator asked me to give her a key in order to repair this. When we got back doorhandle was repaired but we didn't know where the key was. When i asked this,administrator couldn't get what i meant. After 20 mins of arguing they returned keys.
But,fortunately there were a few good things about this hotel.
First of all,location.It's is situated right in the city center,so we didn't have to walk long.
Also we were satisfied with breakfast.There were many various dishes.
And also i liked a terrace in our room. Unfortunately there is just one terrace in the whole hotel :P
In addtion,i noticed piano on the first floor.I can play piano and i wanted to but it was closed. I wish it was open.
Conclusion:
3* hotel,with good location.If you come here just for a few days it fits you.

Very impressed with the service and the overall hotel stay. Walking out the back door of the hotel directly on to Gertreidestrasse (the main shopping area in the old town), I was instantly taken back by the charm of Salzburg. The only issue that I had was with the parking. There is no real drop off zone for luggage and the closest parking is quite a distance from the hotel. You can however pay 26 Euros a day to have the hotel park your car for you. Prices at the hotel resturaunt were a little on the expensive side but there are plenty of places to eat in the area at a fraction of the cost. Had a great meal at a mexican joint not far from the hotel called Lemon Chili's (I think).

We stayed there for Christmas 2011. We were not too impressed by the welcoming service, rather a cold one lacking of the typical austrian charme. We stayed for two night and got a room viewing the river. Some heavy noise from the traffic during the day, but even more in the night from the two balkan disco-pub adjacent the hotel. For the future I would avoid these rooms. The stay was pricey, but can not imagine how the hotel as 5 stars. Anyway very central located. Only valet parking.

Perfect situated in Old Town with walking distance to Christmas Market and other attractions.

This is a non smoking hotel but you could feel the smeel of cigaretts. Probably from staff areas.... Try to get a room in the Annex over the inner yard to avoid the smell.

Some rooms could be noisy due to bars etc outdoors... We had to use ear plugs in the night.

Nice breakfast as always at Radisson.

The hotel is charming but note the things i have mentioned....
