My friend and I stayed here for three nights to visit the town of Salzburg and take in the christmas markets.
The hotel is ideally situated and a short walk into the old town and also right next to the Mirabel platz.
The reception team are the best and were so friendly and made us both feel welcome. My friend had a smoking room and I had a non smoking room and both were roomy and comfortable and spotlessly clean. The drinks in the lobby were great plus the little biscuits that we managed to find on the desk some evenings were delicious!
We had breakfast included in our deal and there was hot and cold buffet. Excellent.
I really have nothing bad to say about the hotel and would recommend it to an yone.
We also did the tour of the Sound of Music and I have not laughed so much in ages. Totally recommend that one.

This hotel is very conveniently located next to Mirabel platz,where all the tours start.It is also within walking distance from the old city and the river.
The staff at the reception are all very helpfull and polite.Another advantage is the free coffee and juices corner in the small lobby.The rooms are clean and warm.Disadvantage is maybe the high price of breakfast(15euro) but there is a very nice Cafe in the corner with great cakes and sandwiches.

Stayed here in September before we started our Salzkammergut Walk from Abersee and it was a cool little place with lovely front desk staff who were exceptionally helpful. Nice fittings and typically Salzburg style decor. Our room was a generous size with a good bathroom and bath. We were able to walk to St Peter's Baroque Hall for the Mozart Concert which was just across the river in the old town. The room was very comfortable with free Wifi. Breakfast was a nice surprise and we were able to have the conventional scrambled eggs and bacon that were on offer, along with the prerequisite hard-boiled eggs, meats and cheese so loved by Europeans.

I stayed at the hotel Austrotel for one night and found it overall to be an excellent value.
We were in Munich and wanted to take an overnight trip somewhere easily accessible by train. Which by the way is just a quick hour and a half train ride through some beautiful German countryside.
The room, although slightly dated was clean and comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent within easy walking distance to both the old town and Linzer Gasse which is lined with great little shops and restaurants.
This is not a luxury hotel and does not claim to be one. If you are looking for a good, clean, centrally located hotel at a reasonable price I do not think you will have any problems.
As a travel agent I would have no problem recommending this hotel to a client.
