“Best Bed and Breakfast in Salzburg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We stayed with Rosemarie at her Haus Steiner over the Christmas holidays. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed for a wonderful experience. The view of the Alps from our room was stunning, and the location of the Haus Steiner is perfect for relaxing in the countryside after visiting the city center. Rosemarie is one of the BEST hostesses we have encountered in our travels, and we cannot say enough good things about her efforts to make us comfortable. She is an exceptionally kind person. Haus Steiner is definitely an Austrian treasure!

“Great base for exploring Salzburg!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

We stayed four nights in October during our honeymoon and found this a great base to explore Salzburg.
Location was outside the city centre but quite picturesque and an easy 15min bus ride into town.
We stayed in the apartment which was spacious and had kitchen facilities, allowing us to prepare our own meals. Only downside was some insects in the room due to the more "rural" location but this didn't cause us any major issues.
Breakfast was generous and very satisfying, we enjoyed all that was on offer and often lingered and chatted with other guests.
Rosemarie was a great host and provided much advice for our day trips, including bus timetables and maps. Her English was excellent which was lucky as our German was not!
Free wifi was reliable.
We would stay here again and would recommend to others.

“Good spot”

We stayed at Haus Steiner for 2 nights. The B&B was great for its affordability and free parking and I don’t have any complaints about our stay but there is nothing incredibly unique or spectacular about this place that would differentiate this from other B&Bs and make it the number one in Salzburg. We noticed other guest houses/B&B’s in the area which possibly have similar perks but perhaps cost more, thus giving this B&B the upper hand on trip advisor based on their price but I can’t confirm or disconfirm this. The B&B is located outside of the historical center of the city which is easy enough to reach on the local bus (2.40 euro pp each way) or you can drive in and park in the large underground garages which is about 2 euro an hour and is more affordable if you are with a group and only going in for a few hours.

“simply the best (wonderful location and service)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

This guest house is ideally located, an extremely easy 'straight' drive into the city, where you can park your hire car in an underground cave system for just 5 euro’s(if you keep your day visit to under 8hours).
We were originally looking to stay in the city center but the hotel costs and parking issues seamed unreasonable. In fact some hotels would put up a temporary bed when trying to book a room for three people.
But this guest house is good value we had kitchen area and two spacious bedrooms (the smallest had an ensuite shower) plus an extra bathroom with a bath! Pure luxury at an affordable price with great views from our veranda.
Plus added bonus of expert advice and excellent service and I would be very happy to stay here again, again, again but would not be surprised if it was fully booked.

“Always a pleasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

Rosemarie has been welcoming me for over a decade in her charming and expertly run bed and breakfast. Salzburg is one of my favorite cities and she has made it more and more accessible by providing helpful tips and practical information that assist me in becoming more familiar with Salzburg’s offerings. Although her home is outside the city center, there are nearby restaurants as well as public transportation within easy walking distance. I have recommended her home to others and of course always look forward to spending time there myself.
