When you land at KLU (Klagenfurt airport) Lake Klopein is just 20 min. east of the city. It is less famous than Woerthersee and much smaller, but it offers the warmest temperatures of all lakes of the Austrian alps and is a hotspot for family holidays from May till October.

Terassenhotel Reichmann is situated right in the center of the motor traffic free promenade connecting the east and west ends of the lake. From your balcony you have a marvellous view over the lake, on the private beach and far away to Hochobir and the Karawanken mountains, forming the border between Southern Austria and Slovenia.

We were pleased to see that Austrians as well as foreign guests (D, CH, NL, I, S. FIN ...) booked this family run hotel. Even people from Japan enjoyed a summer week there in July 2007 (obviously playing golf in the neigbourhood)

Excellent hot buffet breakfast with fresh local and exotic fruits, half board with 4 course dinner, friendly staff. Free beach service (fun boats, parasol etc.), free bicycles, fitness facilities, sauna and indoor pool for rainy days. .Nordic walking groups and mountain walks guided by the owner family.

We enjoyed relaxing there, playing tennis, dancing at the Blue Lagoon, visiting Minimundus theme park and the Wörthersee Musical Scene in Klagenfurt and will surely come back next year or even for an extended weekend in September.
