Reakky pleasant hotel where you got free access to nearby gym. Staff very attentive and genuinely nice. Room a bit small but clean. Only downside the breakfast that did not serve chilled products chilled but left out since 7am or so. Location is really fab.

When I stayed in Klagenfurt to visit family friends, they recommended Hotel Geyer as a good place to stay. I checked in and found it to be perfect for my needs - very comfortable, a great place and right in the centre of town with all main attractions within walking distance.
Lots of beautiful plants throughout the areas make for a lovely environment, much like a conservatory. My room was well appointed and quiet and I was pleasantly surprised by the bedding quality which made for great sleeping comfort. Everything was impeccably clean.
The breakfast buffet was just right - really nice to have breakfast on the verandah outside. I found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly. The front desk lady helped me plan my excursions and gave me some excellent tips! (I wouldn't have thought of visiting the opera house which is nearby - what a great experience!! I'm not really an opera fan but it was utterly delightful)
The hotel also has a fitness area with sauna, steam room etc, but I never had time to use it.
Should I ever get back to Carinthia/Klagenfurt, I'll definitely want to return to Hotel Geyer!

This is an older, small Hotel with typically friendly and modern, not overly large rooms and relative small bath-rooms.
We stayed there Jan 31st for three nights. It is clean, offers a good European full breakfast (included),
and is perfectly situated if you wish to be in the City centre, without paying an arm and a leg. No extra charge for parking!
There are many tropical plants throughout the hotel, giving it a fresh and welcoming air. Our room had TV, telephone and high-speed internet.
We booked ahead by e-mail, no deposit required and just called them from Munich (entry airport of our trip) to let them know that we were still coming. Very friendly check-in. We paid Euro 45.00 per person/night with breakfast, which is good for the location.
Note: all rooms are upstairs and there is no elevator, but the stairs are wide and comfortable.
The place is, as expected, very quiet day and night; there is, besides the ubiquitous breakfast (only) room, no restaurant attached. But no problem, there are too many to mention within comfortable walking distance. With your room key you can also open the front door, should you be out really late. Small, family type Austrian hotels do not have 24 hr receptions.
There is a sauna on the premises.
