Okay, I booked it. For five plus two days. Immediately cancelled the adjacent two days when I saw my "optimally equipped, comfortable room" according to the hotel´s very professional WebSite.
Smallish room, though nicely furnished. Single bed (I call these casket beds) with flat pillow. No minibar or fridge. Probably the world’s only four star hotel without such a facility. No air condition. No ice cube machine in the hotel. No laundry bags or other unnecessary items. Why is it four star? Well, there was a TV.. And a room safe. Plus the free broadband internet access, not without problems. There is also a free internet corner in the lobby. Be careful with that one. The virus protection expired more than two years ago. Well, it's a gift horse. Breakfast buffet was o.k. but trays not refilled due to lack of guests. The Sandwirth promotes itself as a "business class" hotel, obviously aiming at single business travellers and conventions. I got a "cattle class" room, maybe because I had booked only seven nights. If you like a well designed, stylish hotel with the emblems of Rotary, Lions etc. at the entrance, you will love this place. In case it’s rather the basic things you value, like comfort, service etc., it might be worth checking some other options. When departing, get up early enough! Checkout time is 10.30.
