I got what I thought was a good rate with Orbitz - 90 euros for a standard double - but was very disappointed. The main problem was no air-conditioning.

When I arrived, they put me in a single room. After showing them my voucher as proof (this was necessary), they immediately moved me to a double. It faced the interior (with no air-con or breeze), so I asked to be moved. They graciously moved me to an exterior facing room, but it faced the noisy, hot side of the hotel (Burgstrasse). This side gets the sun almost all day (and is over the main street). When I asked them for the cool side (Domgasse), they again graciously moved me.

The room facing Domgasse was cool, which is important because there is no aircon. Luckily, I also had a balcony (only three or four rooms have them). The room was relatively spacious and comfortable, but very basic for a 4 star hotel.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but would not stay here again. If you choose this hotel, ask for a room facing Domgasse. There is no aircon, and many (most??) rooms face the interior. Rooms facing Burgstrasse are very hot and noisy.

I will rate this hotel average. It is located in the center of town so it is convenient fro shopping and walking around the old town. The bad things are we are paying twice the price. It is very noisy and no parking lot. The rooms are very small. I stay at Salzburg at a cheaper hotel but bigger rooms. The internet did not work the whole time while my staying. The staff is friendly and able to speak basic English. They do not understand if your requests are more complicated.

Great hotel! Comfortable, clean, quiet, and very central. Perfect location and very nice hotel. Breakfast is not included, but they have a nice (expensive) breakfast buffet you can buy.

The hotel was conveniently located within the historic area of Klagenfurt. The staff was excellent; they were helpful, smiled graciously, and all spoke English well. The hotel is also conveniently located within an easy taxi ride from the train station - less than 8 Euros. Get out and enjoy! Note, however, that the restaurant only accepts cash or charges to your room, not credit cards. The room - a junior suite - was large, but, as with many European hotels, the "king-sized bed" is, in actuality, two twin mattresses placed together. This does not make for the most comfortable couple sleeping. Not sure why Europeans can't simply put a real, king-sized mattress in a nice hotel!!
