Plus points: Large rooms. Very clean. Lovely breakfast.
Minus points:Fitness facilities cost extra. Bar closes at 9.30pm. Staff leave at 9.30 and you cannot contact them again until the morning. Lacks any atmosphere.
We chose this hotel because it looked really nice on their website and also because it had a sauna/fitness suite and a bar which sold drinks and snacks. We thought that as we were going in December, it would be lovely to come in from the cold and relax with a nice warming sauna followed by a drink & snack at the bar.
Unfortunately, this wasn't to be! The sauna and associated facilities all have to pre-booked & paid for on top of the room rate (11 euros per person per session) and the bar closes at 9.30pm- which is when ALL the staff go home. As all the shops and markets close at about 5.30pm, this meant we had a meal in central Graz, walked back to the hotel and went straight to bed.
On the plus side, the rooms were really big and the whole place was extremely clean and tidy- although it was very minimialist and I feel it lacked any atmosphere. The breakfast was lovely- different breads, rolls, meat, cheeses, assorted vegetables, cereals, fruit and fruit juices and as much tea or coffee as you want- and the staff were friendly.
After 9.30pm though, there are no staff on duty and the central part of the hotel is closed off, leaving you just with access to your room. We were advised that after 9.30 there would be nobody to help us if we had any problems.
The hotel is a good 45 minute walk from the centre of Graz which isn't a huge problem if you like walking, although anyone who is less mobile would need to use buses or taxis.
Overall, I wouldn't use this hotel again and feel they should have made it very clear on their website that the sauna costs and the bar closes early!
