We rolled into Linz on our bicycles with NO idea where to stay. The tourist office on the main platz sent us to this hotel. Such a pleasant surprise.
The rooms are squeaky clean, the desk staff super helpful, good price, a truly amazing breakfast included in our rate, safe side street just off the main drag, private parking lot behind the hotel means our rental bikes (and your car) were safe without a care... everything we could ask for from a 3Star property and maybe just a little more.

the only Cons we can think of: our king sized bed is two beds pushed together, not ideal but comfortable. WiFi only available in the lobby, but you can hand over a 160 euro deposit and they'll give you a wireless modem for your room. we didn't want to mess with credit card refunds so we skipped that step so it meant a trip down to the lobby for email and etcetera.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay here unless you were looking for the lap of luxury. Sometimes that is indeed what we're looking for. This time we wanted nice, safe, clean, convenient and we got all that and more.

2 friends and I booked a weekend special offer stay here in a triple room and loved it. From the efficient emails from the reservation team to the warm and friendly (english-speaking) reception staff and housekeepers/waitresses/bar-staff - all displayed excellent customer service and care.

The buffet breakfast was a good spread of cooked and continental breakfast and fruits.

The italian restaurant and bar in the basement was a chilled-out comfortable place to while away and relax with a drink, the waitress and barman laid back and full of smiles.

The room and common areas were spotlessly clean, possibly the cleanest hotel I have visited for a long time (like the whole city of Linz, very nicely presented and clean). The beds were comfortable with cable TV including 2 english channels, and a powerful shower in the modern bathroom.

We would stay at Kolping again and I am already contemplating a return visit with family - the city is charming with efficient trams, nice restaurants and amazing museums. Well done Hotel Kolping (and thank you Theresa Mayr for the efficient reservation help!).
