We stayed 4 nights at Hotel Lokomotive and found the location to be excellent for taking day trips from the Bahnhof to surrounding villages. Our room was spacious and comfortable on the top floor and very quiet at night. There was a large selection of food at the breakfast buffet. The staff were all friendly and helpful. It was an easy ten minute walk to the tourist sights and shopping of Linz and we were happy to be out of the mainstream city noise. A grocery store was just across the street from the hotel and the new Bahnhof had eateries and shops. The only problem for us was the smell of smoke around the dining room.

Very good traditional hotel. It was our first stop in Europe and was exactly what we had in mind. Fantastic staff who went out of their way to help. The bar and restaurant are very good, and the hotel is well located. Breakfast buffet had a good selection of nice foods. Would definitely recommend.

Chose this hotel as near to Linz railway station. Room number 595. It was a very good low cost hotel. Staff were very friendly. It is a clean old world charm hotel. Some of the lights were not working but I'm sure if we bothered to tell the staff it would have been fixed. Our room was very spacious with a small enclosed balcony. The balcony contained chair tables and had a view of the Cathederal steeple. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choices. Restaurant and bar had great atmosphere. On checking out we were given a bottle of very good Austrian white wine.

A traditional family run hotel near the Linz train station (hence the name). Good parking in a private courtyard. Reasonable and solid austrian food in the restaurant. Ordinary rooms at this price. Main advantage is easy access by car, close to train station and friendly service.
