When we checked in on the floor had some hair. The room and bathroom quite small but has a great lake view.

I think another reviewer said this hotel reminded them of their grandmothers house. Thats probably the best way to describe this place. Location can't be beat and the restaurant is pretty good too. The hotel is definitely on the older side and could use a little work, and dusting. But generally we had a good time and no real complaints. view of the lake was great.

Just recently, I spent three nights there. It is like traveling back in time. All wood, old, wool, great food, wonderful people, a world-class location with the best view possible. Would go back there anytime. Hallstatt is a jewel in Austria, a must-see place.

We stayed 2 nights at Gasthof Simony and you can't beat the location. We were very lucky to have a lakeview room because it is not guaranteed. The bathrooms should be updated, we didn't have enough hot water for a shower. We had dinner at their restaurant and it was excellent. We bought a bottle of wine and we sat on our balcony, the view was just amazing. Breakfast was pretty good with fresh fruits. The staff should speak a better english but they were very nice.
