Never stayed in this hotel but dined here every night, very good food

As a family we have just spent a very enjoyable week at the Hotel Bruxelles in Soldeu. The hotel is centrally located a 4 minute walk down the hill from the gondola up to the ski area. A secure room is provided in the basement for your ski gear.
The rooms a small but very clean, comfortable and very warm, almost excessively so, but that is adjustable so you can vary it to suit your taste. The bathrooms are likewise spotlessly clean and the hotwater supply is constant.
The food is excellent and a popular destination for non residents. We were there for New Years Eve and the hotel put on a fantastic gala dinner which was not only good food and wine but great fun as well complete with party bags at the end of the meal which provided a raucous end to the evening. The hotel management never appeared to stop working not only running the hotel but waiting at tables, running the bar etc etc and all with a great sense of humour!
Any downsides? None really, the bar and public areas, as it appears in all such places in Andorra, are smoking areas, which if you are a non smoker takes you back to the bad old days of stinky clothes, but the rooms are non smoking so the rooms don't suffer from the same issue. That really is a minor issue though as you get so much fantastic mountain air your lungs soon clear.
Overall, a very good, good value hotel hat I would have no problems recommending.

After experiencing what could reasonably be described as complete disinterest from French restauranteurs on our approach to Andorra, on stopping in Soldeu for a coffee/snack, we were so pleasantly surprised by the enthusiastic and helpful attention of the proprietor, we decided to stay for dinner, bed and breakfast!
The quality of service (almost entirely carried out by the said proprietor) was exemplary, coupled with food and accommodation presented as one would wish for and of a quality and cleanliness (respectively) one would hope for.
I cannot praise it highly enough and recommend it to anyone wishing to take time out in Soldeu.

Walked in on the off-chance for a room for the night. Comfortable if small room only 29 euros for the night and 6 euros each for breakfast. The restaurant serves a good choice of local and classic food with good portion sizes for hungry hikers, at reasonable prices. Andorra is not as cheap as it used to be but this hotel offers great value in summer as it is the off season, ie. not skiing. We are seriously thinking about a longer summer stay here next year .
