“Great holiday!”

Was really worried about our stay here, after reading some bad reviews. 11 of us travelled and we all came away with a really good experience. On arrival, check-in was really quick. I stayed in a disabled room, so had the added advantage of a very large room with seperate shower room, newly re-furbished and cleaned to a high standard daily. The showers were amazing after a hard days snowboarding.
Lounge areas were very large, perfect of our large group to congregate and not be in the way of other guests. Spa area very clean, steam room didn't work, but had a lovely pool, jaquzzi, turkish bath and sauna, we used this everyday, this was free.
Only downside, the food was slightly luke warm, was edible tho and for the price we paid, we couldn't really complain. This hotel hasn't got any bars around it, but the service buse stop 100yds outside the hotel, for 1.50 euro you can get into Soldeu within 5mins. You can walk but after a days skiing, a bus seemed a better option.
Have to boast about a restaurant called Merlot in Soldeu, we ate here twice, the steaks are to die for, 15 euro for three courses seemed more like a catch, but well worth it, absolutley fantastic food and service. So to sum up this hotel - good value for money, shame it wasn't in Soldeu, but would definetely visit this resort again.

“Hotel Euro Esqui - Thumbs Up!!”

Just got back from a week’s skiing in Soldeu and stayed at the Hotel Euro Esqui. We had a lovely time there from the moment we arrived. The staff are friendly and helpful no matter what time of day or night.
The ski hire is in the hotel and you are allocated a ski locker in the building for a refundable deposit of €10 . The guys who fitted the boots etc. . were very pleasant and cheerful.
The rooms were very spacious (our party was 2 adults and a child). The en-suite was beautifully presented and everywhere was very clean on arrival. Each day the room was thoroughly cleaned and towels changed if required.
The room maintained a pleasant temperature. The beds were firm but comfortable, the only downside was the continental pillows, but I suppose that would be the same for any hotel within Andorra. We asked for some replacement and they were provided next time the maid cleaned the room.
We were really impressed with the food. Plenty of dishes to choose from, plenty of veg., fish and salad. Even if you were a fussy eater I think you'd struggle to complain as there were always chips too. Breakfast and desserts followed a less varied route but plenty of options available for breakfast (cereal, cooked 'English', continental) and dessert (fruit, jellies, cake, ice cream, yogurt), and plenty of pastries. Wine and soft drinks were extra but not expensive. The restaurant was kept clean at all times along with the table cloths.
We used the spa facilities each afternoon after skiing and this was a very pleasant extra to the holiday. You do have to wear a cap – save yourself €3 and bring one with you. There were 2 saunas, one steam room, one Jacuzzi and plenty of recliner chairs around the pool area. There was also some gym equipment if you felt the need for more exercise!
The hotel offered a free shuttle bus to the El Tartar Gondola which ran continuously from 9am – 1.pm and 2.30pm – 5pm. The guys who ran this were very helpful and would actually take you to other places if you ask them nicely.
We had a lovely experience at this hotel and resort and couldn’t fault it in any way. The only downside – if you call it a downside is the lack of places to go to immediately outside the hotel. This isn’t a place for party goers and is more a family hotel, which is what we expected.
We liked it so much, that we will probably return in 2013.

Having read the review by the dutch guy from arnhem I concluded that he must have stayed at a different hotel, he is talking a load of double dutch. My wife and me have stayed at this hotel for the last 4 years. It has everything anyone needs for skiing. Ski shop in the hotel, free ski lockers(elsewhere 30 E per week), free transport to the lifts, pool, the friendliest staff you would wish for and a wide choice of great food. The safe key mentioned requires only a deposit of 10E likewise the ski lockers which is refunded on their safe return. I just hope people ignore his ignorant comments and he is never there when I am. Room Tip: upper floors are less noisey

“Excellent Hotel and Facilities”

I have never written a review but this hotel has earnt it!
We were a group of 6 people including 2 children who was nearly 2 and a 4 year old.
My wife and the kids didn't Ski, but they were more than entertained with:
Pool Tables, Swimming, Kids games room (arcade machines, and air hockey).
The bar area was "VERY" comfortable and very large.
Rooms were excellent and a very high standard and warm! in fact the whole hotel was pleasantly warm, its colder by the door but thats obvious why!
In the hotel next door there is a small ski area, which to be honest is ideal if you are a beginner! although not sure if they do ski lessons! but in addition to this they hire out sledges for the kids at 7 Euros, which was ideal for us!
Dinner, I was pleased with the variety of the food, maybe a little to much fish for me, but I dont eat fish at all! For the fussy eaters you have a good selection of Salad, Pasta, Bread and chips...My wife really lived on that!
Breakfast! - SPOT ON! Bacon bread and eggs (Scrambled and fried) Loads more selection but that was my combo everyday!
The shuttle to the slopes is really good! would much rather be there than up in soldeu right next to that lift! as the El Tarter lift is not as busy, in fact most days I just walked straight onto the lift! And it is really true you will not wait for longer than 10 mins and the ride itself is about 2 mins!
Yes I would go there again! and hopefully will!

Room Tip: Our friends stayed in Room110, Which was above reception, This room you can get WIFI but I think the...

The food at this hotel was amazing, even had smoke salmon and king prawns on pallella on occasions. The restaurant staff were very friendly but lacked promptness on occasions when obtaining you a drink, advice is to be quite pushy. The reception were mostly helpful but would not have hurt for them to crack a smile once in a while ;)

The swimming pool area was good just make sure you take a swimming hat, towel and flip flops otherwise they make you purchase or hire them.

There is a mini bus that transports you from the hotel to the Gongola, free of charge and very efficient. The drivers are very friendly and helpful although you need to speak a little spanish to communicate. There did not appear to be a regular resort free ski bus as we have found in other resorts, but there is a bus that runs every hour from Soldeau to Andorra capital and its quite cheap.

The hotel is located approximately a half an hour walk up a steep hill into Soleau and there is not really much going on around the hotel apart from other hotels and there bars/restaurants. This makes the hotel quiet and relaxing with the river running through it, only downside is that you can smoke in the hotel bar, so hotel smells a bit smokey (maybe a positive if you smoke and are fed up with going out into the cold for a cig!)

Wanted to get a taxi one night up the hill as did not mind walking back, advised by reception staff that buses had stopped and taxi would be coming from Andorra capital thus would be expensive. So if you want to be in the heart of the resort and are not prepared to walk stay in a hotel in Soldeau as there really is not much going on directly around the Euro Esqui.
