We stayed one night. But the reception we got was so cold and indifferent, we would have left right then and there if we had not prepaid on the Internet.
The girl at reception was obviously annoyed at having to deal with customers, and having to spend more than 30 seconds looking for our reservation. When asked about parking, she said it was full. When we asked for alternatives, she gestured vaguely that we could find some outside. Smiling and answering questions were clearly out of the question for her so we left it at that.
The Fenix appears to have been renovated, but taste had no part in it. For example, the lobby is cavernous, and filled on one side with about 100 identical powder blue lounge chairs. Eery. The hallways to the room are endless, you feel like you're in a David Lynch movie.
The rooms were clean, heating working fine, water pressure good, but mini-bar completely empty except for 2 small water bottles (free), no kettle, no bath robe (despite being promised). There is free wi-fi in the common areas, and reception can lend you an Ethernet cable for free room internet access. We plugged it in but it didn't work.
But that wasn't all. The doors to the rooms can only be pulled shot, with a loud bang. If you're early to bed or late to get up, you will be merrily awakened numerous times by your neighbours' doors happily slamming away.
Very disappointing.
