We had an ok experience at Hotel Plaza during the Carnival week in February. All in all normal hotel, definitely not a 5*, but I guess this is as far as you can go in Andorra. The hotel is well located, in between two car parks (not a very exciting view), and next to the main street in Andorra La Vella. A shuttle bus operates everyday and takes you to the Funicamp, which is quite convenient for those who wish to ski. The hotel itself is located in a new building, with a somehow, "overstated" style (lots of marble, golden elevators, glass, candles, grand piano, statues etc.). The worst part about reception is the smell of smoke that travels throughout the hotel. The room we were assigned was quite small but enough for us. The bed was comfortable (although it was just two twin beds put together), nice selection of channels on TV. No special touches like water or biscuits upon arrival. No turn down service. The bathroom was of a decent size but the amenities were regular "Hotel Plaza" soaps and shampoos (nothing fancy). We did not try the spa, although it was included in the rate. Breakfast was ok, with yogurts, fruit, juices, and some cooked options (nothing very special). You have to brew your own coffee, which, I particularly dislike as I do not enjoy going all the time to the main counter for coffee. Too many people at times fighting for food. There is no business centre so in order to print something, you need to send it to the general reception email address (not a lot of privacy). Also, the four computers at the lobby are always surrounded by children playing games, so it is impossible to work on them. Wifi is available in all of the hotel, though, so bring your own laptop, if you wish to work or read the newspaper. We may come back if we have to go to Andorra as, I do not think, there are other interesting alternatives.
