I went to Andorra for business and was recommended ti stay in the Andorra Park. And what a good recommendation.
The hotel was terrific value: A junior suite and breakfast for €105 a night!
As we pulled up, I knew immediately what my room would like like. The hotel is the sort of concrete structure that causes stirringns in the loins of Saab drivers who woukd be architects if they had eir time again. The lobby is an expanse of tree in glass box and hard edges. The room was obviously going to have a wooden floor and handle-less furniture and light switches that would be anything but intuitive.
Once I'd figured out how to open the wardrobes, I realised the room was comfortable a spacious. And the hotel had most of the things I require for it to qualify as a 'great' hotel: good bed, good shower; free wifi, good poached eggs and good - in fact, excellent - G&T. The only black mark was the lack of free water. However, at €105 a night, I didn't object to being strung up for a bottle of water. And the free Nespresso made up for it.
In fact, my only real complaint was the lack of atmosphere in the common areas. The bars were empty (not even a batman!) and there was no bar food (only sandwiches). But the excellent receptionist guided me to an excellent tapas bar on the river, which was spot on.
If you find yourself in or near Andorra and need a place to rest your head, you could do a lot worse than this terrific hotel.
