“Friendly family run hotel - Great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

I absolutely love this hotel, my friends and I have been twice and have loved it both times. Linda and Eugene (the owners) make you feel very welcome and are always around for you to sit and have a chat to and the bar staff, Stelios and Jean, do a fantastic job and really make you feel like you have made a friend! The entertainment is good - the disco with Chris is the best part, so much fun!! The restaurant serves lovely food - although you can choose a self-catering option, and the location is brilliant, just a short walk into Protaras - which is very lively with lots of shops, bars and places to eat... there is also the beautiful Fig tree bay which is the best beach in Cyprus!! The hotel also has it's own private beach which is handy if you want to stay on site - we used both beaches, the hotel is also only a 20 minute bus ride to Ayia Napa so there is lots of choice of things to do and places to go... Paralimini is also nearby and that is good for shopping.. all in all a wonderful holiday is to be had at this hotel, what more can u ask for if you have friendly staff, lovely food, beautiful sunshine and things to do... would definitely re-visit this hotel

“Lovely hotel - what it says on the tin”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

A lovely little hotel, great views, excellent food, friendly staff and good value for money.
My partner, daughter (18) and I travelled there 24/8/11 for 11 nights and overall had a really lovely holiday. Typical 3 star accommodation - air conditioning a little noisy but effective none the less - really good food - typical Greek holiday entertainment - fabulous views.
Would I go back - yes, maybe I'd try and get a cheaper, last minute holiday next time as overall the holiday worked out quite expensive but we weren't disappointed in any way.
Recommended!!!

Room Tip: The self catering rooms seemed to have the best views overlooking the sea

“Not so impressed 2nd time around”

2nd holiday here booked through Thomas Cook last visit was in 2009. We booked Half board. We were allocated a room which had self catering facilities and the fridge was useful to keep bottled water cold. We had a sea view this time but only a tiny balcony not big enough for three people to sit out and there were only two chairs anyway. I prefered the room we had the last visit which overlooked the road and didnt have the self catering facilites but you cant please some people! Arrived late afternoon to find a few ants crawling on the bed and floor and up the walls outside. I asked reception to get housekeeping to sort this and I think they did as we never saw any more ants. I was a bit disappointed in the food on offer this time. The breakfast was ok but we dont eat "cooked breakfasts" these days prefering croissants or cereals and yoghurt and fruit. There was fruit salad and yoghurt every day but sadly no croissants but plenty of assorted breads which you could toast and have with jam or cheese, ham, tomatoes. The cereals are a bit cheap and nasty. We found the evening meals to be a luke warm offering which were a bit unappetising. Cant say anything really stood out. The bar meals at lunchtime were much better as everything was cooked to order so subsequently hot and fresh. We went into Protaras three nights and had food there so paying for half board was a waste of money. Found out the day before we came home that you could get some sort of discount if you told the staff you were having lunch instead of evening meal but we didnt decide to eat out until we'd looked at the evening meal menu offering for that day. I mentioned this to the receptionist when I paid the bill the day before we left and I asked if we could have a discount because we'd eaten out but she said you had to do it at lunchtime and tell the staff what you are doing. I am much too polite to make a fuss so we lost out there. There are no signs about this any where so if knowing this helps someone else it might be useful to pass it on. The sunbed situation got on my nerves, cant believe in 2011 people are still getting up at the crack of dawn to put towels on sunbeds, get a life people!! We sat by the pool every day from just after breakfast and people had put their towels on sunbeds then went out for most of the day. There was a notice about this saying towels would be removed by management but no one bothered to police this and we heard many people complaining to a member of staff but nothing changed. By the end of our week we taking matters into our own hands and moving towels ourselves. What is the point of blagging a sunbed then going out for the day. I did enjoy my holiday and yes the staff are lovely but twice was enough and I wouldnt go again to this hotel. Prices were a bit steep but we are not great drinkers fortunately so one or two drinks a night was all we had. And as a final note I think they should provide coffee or tea free of charge with your evening meal. The peace and quiet was the main reason we returned and we werent disappointed with this but it all seemed to have got a bit "clicky" for me with returning Brits who think they own the place and can do what they like. I would advise anyone going to self cater.

“The truth about the hotel Mimosa”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

Oh dear, where to begin? The holiday cost over £1000 for 1 week for a twin room half board. The meals are truly appalling! I don't know where the other guests have been eating who have left good reviews about the meals. They are VERY POOR!
The curry was all the left overs from the previous days meal by the look of it! It contained ALL of the chicken - I had wings, legs and even a part of the wishbone in my portion. Believe me I HATE curry but it was the best of what was available! Beware any children tucking into this! The puddings were abysmal - the same most nights. A bought-in cake - E numbers to the hilt - beware children! some jelly with about 10 pieces of fruit in the whole jelly - lucky if you get 4 pieces in the portion, VERY sour fresh fruit salad. We ate out twice whilst on Half Board as the meals were horrid!

Breakfasts were a mix of eggs, bacon and sausage - but NOT all together. The sausages were on 2 of the days only - no bacon on that day. The 'scrambled eggs' were solid in a pan and had to be sliced in order to get a spoonful! There was no flavour in them! Eggs??? May be left-over powder from the war! There was no marmalade for the last 4 days to have on the toast - which, by the way only warms the bread. No-one is allowed to turn up the toaster! Beans on toast would be your best bet.

The room was tied and we were given new towels when we left them on the floor but my counterpane had a stain on - which was there the whole 7 days - the sheets were never changed. The bed head or the side tables were NOT dusted, beware children with allergies! The pillows are about 2" deep - ask for more when booking!

The beach, we thought, would be a saving grace but was soo noisy and very small. Buses brought in disabled people to the tiny beach everyday which was very upsetting to see. We hired a car and went 1 mile into Protaras where the beaches were much better.

The entertainment at this hotel was a joke. Stuck in the 70's - with Karaoke and a chap called Tony singing songs from the 70's (very badly). This goes on til the early hours so the kids will love being kept awake with this noise!

All round the worst hotel we've EVER stayed in. No spare cutlery given out, no decent Air con in the dining room so everyone tries to make for an outside table. Staff unhelpful and surly.
I'm 55 and this hotel was full of old people. The must be return clients leaving feedback because they can't have stayed anywhere better than this for decades!

Not recommended.

Room Tip: The are ALL situated around the pool and entertainment area so there are NO good rooms!
