“Rude & terrible service, 3 stars at most, would never return!”

This is the second time we have visited Capital Coast, but this mistake will never happen again!
We are from Nicosia and travelled to Paphos for a getaway weekend. Firstly, we were told that check-in is at 2 pm, an hour later than when we arrived. We didn't mind -common hotel policy- but then no one offered to take care of our luggage or guide us to the hotel bar to wait.
Then upon entering the room later, we realised that not only it was small, but it wasn't the "sea-view" we booked online... It wasn't even side sea view, to look at the sea you had to stand over the rail of the balcony, practically risking falling down. We didn't complain though, cause we went there to have a good time and I wasilling to overlook a few things.
Then, we realised that our room was part of a larger family room originally, so we shared the front door with another room. At night when either of us left or entered our rooms every sound was amplified and this was very uncomfortable.
The last straw for me was the rudeness I encountered at breakfast. We were directed to table inside, but we told the waiter that we would seat outside at the veranda which had gorgeous sea views, although it was a bit chilly. He told us very abruptly that this cannot be done, they do not serve outside. I told him that I would just take my coffee and sit outside, I didn't expect anyone to serve me there, but was again told very rudely that it is not allowed. I understand hotel policies, but would appreaciate a kinder and more respectful reply. Afterall we were paying customers! We left within minutes without having breakfast!
The only good thing I have to say about the hotel is that is does have beautiful sea view rooms, if you get one and they don't cheat you and it has modern design elements, it doesn't feel old like many other hotels nearby. But overall, they lack in service which for me is number 1 for a hotel. There are much better hotel in the area which treat every signle customer as royalty. We will never return.

Room Tip: Be sure to get a sea view room if you pay for one, the offer side sea view as sea view.

“2 nights at the Capital Coast Resort and Spa in Paphos January 2012”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We booked two nights on the internet during our 1 month stay in Cyprus, and the price seemed good value for money at the time. The lobby was quiet and appeared up market, when we arrived, but things soon took a turn for the worse, when car loads of people discorged their unruly cargo during the first day we were there. Children were allowed to run wild around the lobby with their screams echoing off the cavenous interior. I agree with the comment that it was more akin to Butlins than an up market hotel.
The internet did not work during our 2 day stay, although unlike one reviewer we were not charged, as we made it quite clear at reception that we did not expect to be.
The breakfasts were very good. This in contrast to the dinner, which we foolishly opted to take on our first night. The experience was poor, service was far too quick, as they seemed to want you in and out as quickly as possible. The food was to say the least not good. I suspect they do not have the services of a trained chef, as everything seemed to come from a tin or the freezer. The vegetables were soggy and overcooked, the orange sauce with something, which was supposed to be duck, was unbelievably poorly put together, with orange pith being chopped up in orange juice. That was it! Unbelievable!
There are no kettles in the room, although we did have BBC and ITV TV for the first time in our stay in Cyprus.
If we had paid a lot of money to stay in this hotel we would have been disappointed, as it is noisy and definitely not 4 star. I cannot imagine the bedlam there must be in the summer. You get what you pay for!!

“Clean Hotel but slightly of the beaten track”

Had a great room which was on the first floor with a sea view and a balcony. It was more of an apartment with 3 rooms which we got for a great price. The kids had a room each and each room had a TV and balcony overlooking the outdoor pool. There was a lounge with a widescreen TV. The only downside was that internet access was via an ethernet cable with only one cable access in the apartment. Internet access was also an extra cost so be prepared for this. The rooms were comfortable and cleaned daily. There was a washing machine in the kitchen and basic cooking facilities. It was a little chilly to use the outdoor pool as it was February but the indoor pool made up for this. Didn't use the jacuzzi as it was always full of people. Breakfast was a buffet with cooked and ambient food. Only gripe was when I went to breakfast on my own before my family joined me the head waiter insisted on trying to move me to a smaller table despite me insisting my family were going to join me and that I needed a table for 4. I stood my ground but no guest should be treated like that. The hotel is away from the main Paphos area and so transport is necessary. I would suggest hiring a car.

Room Tip: If travelling with a family then try and get a 3 roomed apartment.

Stunning hotel, great rooms and amazing food. Could not ask for anything more. Plus the restaurant staff cannot do enough for you. Fantastic.

Room Tip: Executive suite with sea view is stunning.
