I have just booked our return trip to the Kefalonitis apartments in Paphos Cyprus. A family run business, my husband and I keep returning to - for the last 10 years.
We always stay in a studio which we find is plenty big enough for us - and our large suitcases.
Apartments are well furnished, hair dryers are also provided. The Kitchen has all you need to prepare a meal - fridge with small freezer section, 2 ring cooker, with also has an over and grill. Toaster and kettle. plenty of plates, and cutler etc. I would advise taking your own tea towel as these are not provided. Rooms are cleaned 5 times a week, and towels and bed changed 3 times a week. All the staff at the Kekalonitis are really friendly. There is Ted the Scottish night receptionist, if you need any suggestions for meals out, or places to go - ask Ted. The apartments are clean, the pool is brilliant with plenty of sunbeds, and a choice of completely in the shade ALL DAY to out in the sun ALL DAY. There is also an indoor pool which is great if you just want to swim and not dodge others guests. There is also a gym, but must confess to never having used it. The location is great just a 10 minute to the beach, and from there follow the path to the harbour. The apartments are also very close to the bus stops, for Coral Bay, or the market, or the Harbour. 2 minutes walk to the nearest shop, this area of Paphos is full of Restaurants, and bars, so no need to venture too far for refreshment. There is not entertainment at the Kefalonitis, so I would not recommend this place if you or maybe children want this as part of your holiday experience. There are also no Lifts, so if you are not good with stairs, either request a ground floor appartment, or look somewhere else, Nico and his family always do their best to accommodate such requests.
The Kefalonitis is a brilliant base for exploring Cyprus, 45 minutes in a car will take you to Polis, Latchi, or to the base of the Trudos mountains. Many people return to the Kefalonitis every year, people who want a good base, in a clean room, and a great location. There is a laundrette on the site, but I suggest if you think you may use it bring some washing powder with you, you cannot buy powder and conditioner at the apartments, and only large sizes of powder at the supermarkets. I usualy take a couple of liquid tabs with me. The restaurants close by include, Cypriot, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, and Indian, there is a great English cafe -tea for 2. all the comforts of home - from roast dinners, to scones, Heinz sauces, they have it all covered. Try the Harbour side restaurants, for fresh fish, The Pelican is always popular.
I hope that I have helped with my review.
