I stayed at this hotel with my partner for a short break at the end of September last year (2011)
In general We would have to say that this hotel was suitable for what we needed. The rooms were cleaned and were comfortable. The food was of a good menu every night and also the breakfasts were good although little bit simple. As for the location it is good but needs a bus to go to certain places as pafos is spread around. The swimming pool as well was very nice. The price we paid was also good for what we got. We recommend it Highly.

we were very disappointed.The fire doors wedged open ,the food cold and of poor quality ,the hot water system went from cold to boiling as you used it making it unsafe. The staff unhelpful . The rep. did nothing to sort out the troubles. On our return the travel company completly did not want to know.This was our 8th trip to cyprus and the first to let us down

The Avlida is in dire need of either a serious makeover or knocking down and starting again. The room, though large was not cleaned, the towels were grey and torn. The sheets, thin and never changed during the whole week. The air con didn't work and after repeatedly asking for it to be looked into, they eventually gave us a fan but this just circulated the hot air. we asked for a quiet room so they put us in the front (road noise) and on the first floor directly above the speakers. The pool surround was extremely slippery and we saw several people fall. Drinks were extortionate cost - supposed to be 4 bars but only 2 working and never at the same time. The bar areas were filthy and staff were washing up with disgusting cloths. Breakfast was served by the pool one morning - we found out that there had been a fire in the kitchen but nobody told any of the guests. We had to lift the systern lid to flush the toilet. Fridge in room was charged if you didn't use their drinks and we were overcharged for drinks we hadn't had. Paphos is full of timeshare touts and by the end of the week we'd had enough. we were so glad to go home. oh, forgot, the food was cold, or luke warm with the same desserts each night, one of which was named by most guests as "sick on a plate"

I always read between the lines on trip advisor before I book any holiday and I am so glad I did as my husband and I really enjoyed our stay.
The all inclusive drink list was very varied as were the soft drinks and juices. We never waited once for a drink as soon as it was ordered it was brought straight over to the table. The staff were fantastic and everything was always greeted with a smile.
The food only on two occasions of an evening was a bit hit and miss but for the rest of the time we really enjoyed the joints served up each evening and you could always find something to eat.
We had a seaview room 204 which was very spacious although the beds were hard.
A mention to Adonis the owner on one night went to the shop to purchase some playing cards for my husband so he could do some card tricks and on the last day the all inclusive finished at 12pm and he let us continue with the AI till we left at 7.30pm free of charge. This was really appreciated and something he did not have to do.
This was a really friendly Hotel everyone spoke to each other which made the holiday.

A big thank you to Tony for his fire show which takes place every Saturday Night we really enjoyed this along with the Quiz nights and other entertainment.

We hired a car for the week so did not spend that much time around the pool but thought the main pool to be very nice.
