“our christmas getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

my fiance & i stayed at the anemi for 2 weeks over christmas & the new year & had a great time even though paphos was quiet. The hotel was small with a lovely bar &lounge area which made it more intimate & a great place to have a drink & meet other guests. we stayed in a basic d room on a self-catering basis which was clean & tidy. The kitchen had kettle, toaster, hob& combi-oven which was perfect for us as we only had snacks in the room. The majority of people we spoke to who were staying half board said the food was good. The hotel was very quiet so it was difficult to do buffet meals all the time so sometimes it was set meals. The bathroom was quite spacious ,we had bath with shower attachment & plenty of hot water. All in all we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Our basic room was ok for us as a couple, not worth an extra 30 euros a day to upgrade to a superior...

“Lovely small hotel”

We have just returned from a New Year's break at the Anemi Hotel, having booked half board with Thompson. The hotel is pretty with lovely modern decor, the staff are very helpful and efficient and the food well cooked (although not many choices). Out first room (a superior studio) was very noisy even though it overlooked the pool, it was on the corner so faced Bar Street and the Loft nightclub. We changed the next day to a 1 bed superior apt on a lower floor and in the middle of the block and hey presto, no noise. We had to pay extra for this though which was abit annoying as the holiday was quite expensive.People we met who had booked the basic apts (at much less cost than us) had no complaints whatsoever but I have to say the superior rooms were fab. Paphos is not the prettiest of places and was rather 'closed' at this time of year. However the harbour area was nice with some good places to eat and drink and lovely views. As we ate in the hotel most nights, can't really recomend any restaurants. Would we go back - probably not in the winter as not enough going on and weather was stormy at times. New Years Eve in the hotel however was great fun. Hope this helps.

Room Tip: As far away from Bar street as possible unless you are young!

“spotlessly clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

I stayed in a superior one bedroom and these are very smart. Hotel is spotlessly clean with a lovely lobby/lounge/bar area overlooking pool. Buffet breakfast was good and a wide range of food. You do need to stay on the pool side of the hotel as on the other side you get a lot of music from nearby very late night clubs. Windows on the club side are only single glazed (why don't they double/triple glaze them?) Pool side apartment was fine as we did not hear the clubs and the rooms are well soundproofed between them. Only 3 minute walk from the beach/marina and near to what I consider is the nicest part of the beach. Friendly helpful staff. We did not have half board as we prefer to eat out and there are lots of good restaurants.

Room Tip: Get a superior room

“Paphos in December 2011”

Returned from Cyprus on 11 December. Stayed at the Anemi in a standard 1 bedroom apartment. Never been to Cyprus before and had a truly wonderful time. The weather was excellent sunny and warnm every day. These apartments were brilliant!! The staff were really friendly, rooms cleaned evey day .....could not fault it in any way...never once considered upgrading to a superior room.. The resort was fairly busy and though some restaurants and bars had closed for the season there was still enough going on to keep us occupied. Eating breakfast outside evey morning down at the harbour was wonderful...give anything to be back there right now!! Would reccommend these apartments to anyone.

Room Tip: We were in room 107 view of the pool nice and quiet this time of the year...might be noiser in high...

room nice hotel nice meals terrible.... cold, undercooked, no choice and we had to fill in an order form each evening to say what meal we wanted the following night.. with just a small selection (same every day).. the bar closed at 10.00pm they ran out of beer halfway through our holiday..and no entertainment at all. It was like a ghost ship and think we met at the most 4 other couples staying half board... Highlight of the week was cutting into a boiled egg and to find it raw!!! we sent various meals back and then got them returned... reheated in a microwave! Tea & coffee in machine was lukewarm. We ate out several times because of this, adding to the cost of our holiday.... staff mainly east european whe spoke little english, but friendly enough.. deffo NOT returning to Anemi but will visit Pathos again...

Room Tip: we had a top floor corner room which was nice, but take your own hairdryer as the one in the room is...
