We chose the hotel mainly because it is adults only, but also because it appeared to be quite modern, in good condition (refurbed) and in a convenient location a short bus ride from Paphos. Our room was an upgraded one with a sea view, I would recommend going for one of these as otherwise the view from your balcony could well be the scrubland to one side or alternatively the pool and walkways, which were in close proximity the other side. The room was a good size, well finished and everything worked. Tea making facility was included, which is always useful. No fridge though, I think one is available for extra payment.
The food and service were of good quality, although the choice of food didn’t have quite the variety we have seen at some other comparable hotels. Lunchtime food was available at the hotels second restaurant, near the beach area. The local restaurant next door to it was also good, and there were at least another two out on the main road, although we didn’t try these as we took the half board deal with the hotel. If you want the All Inclusive, it appeared to be cheaper to buy it at the hotel desk rather than pre book.
Although there were plenty of sun beds on grassed areas in the grounds, the beach itself was very small and seemed little used. Swimming was easy though, with plenty of space around the rocks, which also provided some shelter from the open sea.
Some evening entertainment was provided, which a lot of the older guests seemed keen on, filling up the seats in the small entertainments room very early in the evening. As late evening diners, we usually only caught the last hour or so, which was quite enough for us.
This was our first visit to Cyprus, we went in late September and the weather was still surprisingly hot. Paphos was, as expected, a large tourist resort with the usual harbour restaurants and boat trips, although it was generally fairly quiet when we were there, probably because we were slightly off season. There are a lot of excursions available, we were briefly tempted to go to the Tombs of the Kings nearby, until one of the local expats told us it was “only a big hole in the ground”. Eventually we settled for a half day boat ride up the coast to Coral Beach (said to be the best beach in the area), which was well worth it.
