we were very concerned about some reviews. We went for a week on half board basis. Food was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful, hotel room was spotless.

Mayfair hotel Pafos is located between the town, you can walk, and beautiful sites you can visit by car. We had a great room (very hard matrasses) with big balcony.
When we came back from our trip we wanted to swim and the ever friendly hotelmanager welcomed ànd remembered us. Of course we could use the swimming pool and (hot water) shower afterwards. We had a great warm last afternoon in Mayfair hotel Pafos!!
When you enter at night look up in your country how to drive. The road is dark and we found no signs to the hotel.

My boyfriend and I spent 2 weeks at the Mayfair during sept 2011 and I honestly don't know what all the whinging is about. I guess some people are more difficult to please and will always find fault. We stayed in an apartment on a room only basis so I can't comment on the food but the hotel and our apartment were very clean. Yes, they are basic but we got a bargain price for 2 weeks and we don't go on holiday to spend it in the room. There was no problem at all getting a sun lounger regardless of the time of day you went down to the pool even if you turned up later in the day. The wifi is free if you are in the reception area so don't bother paying for access. We found the staff to be very friendly and happy to answer any questions you may have about the local area. There is a supermarket just 5 mins walk from the hotel which is cheaper than the local convenience shops. It's not the most obvious place to get to and the rep will send you the long way round which she says takes 20 mins! To get there simply turn right out of the main doors of the hotel and then take a right at when the road let's you. Go straight on until you get to 3 -4 steps. Go up the steps and you are there! It's about a ten minute walk to the main sea front and the bus service is excellent so we regularly walked into town and got the bus back. There are some fantastic restaurants in Paphos. You MUST try the Kleftiko at the Seagull restaurant on the front and the meze at manhdra tavern. There is also a fantastic pizza restaurant just near the Mayfair which we only tried on our last night but it's superb. Simply turn right out of the hotel and keep walking until you hit the main road. It's just across the road and i think it was called georges but you can't miss it. All in all a great holiday. The Mayfair is not a luxurious 4star hotel but it's clean and was great value for money. I like to try different holiday locations each year so probably won't go back but if I was going back to paphos I would stay here again.

We will never go all inclusive again. This has really put us off, infact we started eating out, away from this hotel. We had friends saying for years what good value all inclusive was, but oh dear never again. Only once in the week did we manage to eat anything which was hot. I will eat a far wider range of food than my husband but even I was struggling to find something. Twice for a meal my husband only had bread rolls and butter! There was salad lying out all day and not covered up. I picked grapes on evening and then something started to run around my plate! It was quite disgusting. I saw the pork chops being cooked for the evening meal one day and it was only one o'clock in the day, so they would be getting kept warm until seven in the evening! As for the room, the wardrobe had a shelf which if you put anything at all on it then it fell down. The bathroom had a puddle in it which I reported in the mornings but nothing was done and I don't mean that it was a little bit damp, I mean a large puddle. This I think came in through the tiles and originated in the ceiling. There was a large bulge in the ceiling in the hall outside the room where they have obviously had problems with water coming in through the roof. I also had to report the fact we had ants in the bathroom again I don't mean a few, but there were infact rather a lot at times. I also overheard a man telling someone else that his room was bad for ants. I had asked that the room be sprayed for the ants, but this was also not done. We had a bit of a problem with cockroaches on the balcony, but my husband took care of them. So no I would absolutely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. Sorry but no. We were very glad that we were only staying for a week, if it had been two I would have asked the rep to move us somewhere else. I am fortunate that this was my second holiday this year if it had been my main one I would have gone mad.
