“Fantastic Hotel, comfortable, warm and brilliant staff! :)”

We have just got back from staying at St George and I have to say it exceeded our expectations to say the least! The food is fantastic and they offer a different menu every evening. There is always entertainment on in the bar of an evening. The lady who looked after us and our room on the 2nd floor is simply lovely and all the staff cannot do enough for you. it's brilliant and great value for money if you get a package trip with I.e Thomson fr instance. The beach at the bottom of the hotel is clean, tidy and stretches to magnificent views and is really enjoyed with a nice bottle of white Cypriot wine on the wave breakers!

Thank you to the hotel and all the staff who made our stay amazing.

“Not quite winter sun, but pretty good!”

We stayed for seven nights, half board, at the St George Hotel, Paphos, from January 18 until 25. We booked with Thomson, and had an amazing price via internet of £280 each. In spite of the low price the hotel, and the whole experience, were great! We had some sun, especially up in the Troodos mountains, but also some rain and one tremendous storm! The hotel was super. The bedroom was spacious and well equipped, with tea and coffee making facilities and UK TV. The public room were huge and elegant. The buffet meals (evening and breakfast) were varied, with plenty of choice, and the staff so helpful and friendly. The evening entertainment, even in january, was first class! The hotel grounds and pool were very extensive and attractive, but it was not warm enough to swim. The hotel was 100 metres from its own little beach. All iin all, while the UK is in January misery, it was a super break. The Paphos area is also full of very intresting historical and cultural sights - a real bonus!

Room Tip: Pay the modest extra for a sea view

“Great Hotel - Poor Tour Operator (Thomson/TUI)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

On arrival at Paphos airport the Thomson representatives were no where to be seen. The other tour operators had signs indicating their desk but not Thomson. We were advised later by letter that we should have recognised their uniforms. How should we know what they look like?
The Hotel was first class. Great service from the polite staff and excellent food in the resaurant both breakfast and dinner. All self service buffet. Evening entertainment was very good and the rooms were clean and spacious. On the plane back to UK Thompson were very poor in helping us elderly with bad knees to get a better seat on the plane.Even though we requested them and were prepared to pay extra they were given to two youths free of charge. In addition one elderly passenger with arthritis (my wife) was made very uncomfortable by a selfish youth who insisted on reclining his seat onto her. Thomson did not address this point in their letter of reply but said that passengers have the right to recline their seat. We stated that there should be code of conduct where one should seek the agreement of the person behind before reclining the seat into their space. One mans comfort should not be anothers un-comfort. Civilised behaviour must be encouraged by the airline/tour operator. Otherwise it is just the law of the jungle. Strongest (youth) against the weak (elderly lady) Thomson have not really responded to our letters of complaint adequately and have avoided the specific point about reclining seats. Overall a very good holiday. A very good hotel but a dismal performance by Tomson/TUI

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view. Otherwise you may get to look at the rear of the hotel.

“ok hotel nothing great”

I stayed here back in May 2010 with a friend of mine. the hotel itself is fairly clean and easy to get to.
It has its own private beach/lagoon area which is nice and the water sports boys are very helpful and entertaining at times.
The food i thought was average and sometimes bland, ate in the hotel twice in the 7 nights i stayed there. This hotel is a 3 star and good value for money if you are travelling on budget.

“Great New Year's getaway”

We looked at holidays in Paphos and decided that the St. George was one of the nicer hotels, when we came to the hotel we were very impressed. Although a little out of the town, the bus service is cheap and reliable. Rooms are a little out-dated but very clean and well maintained by the maids. The grounds of the hotel are nice, nice flowers and japanese style fish pond. Great access to the beach and long beach front paths nice for walks. The staff are all very pleasant and great service at all times. Food delicious and different menus every night. Overall, it lived up to our expectations and we hope to return in the future.
