“Honeymoon from hell”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Worst hotel ever stayed in, the place should be shut, in desperate need of attention, we are sure the photographs promoting the hotel must be from when it was first built, should be down graded to a one star, bacteria growth everywhere in bedroom, meats were raw in the middle, these were only a few of the problems we came across. Best thing about the hotel was Chris at the pool bar and the exit, where we could jump on the bus and find suitable places to eat and visit. We took our issues on several occasions to reception, the manager and the holiday rep and got nowhere.

“Worst holiday ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

We arrived at the Laura Beach after midnight with two tired children to be told they had no record of our reservation. After being stuffed into a tiny room with 3 beds between 4 of us the reservations manager decided not to be helpful and refused to give us the family Bungalow we had paid for when we booked our holiday. He refused to move us and so 4 of us spent our entire holiday crammed into a twin room. The hotel is dated and run down. The food is all below average and very repetative. There were no BBQ nights as promised. Many activities were run badly with old broken equipment, The lifts kept breaking down and I found myself trapped on two occasions. A total joke from start to welcome finish. There was even building work being done around the family pool area and we were there in August, the height of the season. Never again.

Room Tip: Demand a bungalow

“Our week at Laura Beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

We have just returned from Laura Beach Hotel. Looks good on arrival. I know it is due to close November but there were areas that were quite disappointing. Meals were ok but couldn't believe all vegetables were frozen. Evening entertainment was poor to say the least. Some of the staff were great like Chris in the pool bar and the 2 girls who fetched our drinks in the evening. We have been all inc before and the waiters and waitresses in the restaurants always had a conversation with you. There was not a member of the restaurant staff we could name.Maybe they didn't have the time but good morning would have been nice.
They have a long way to go to get this hotel anywhere near a 5*
.

“Good Hotel”

We arrived at the hotel on the 9th Oct, to find out that we had been upgraded to a seaview room, very good, the food was spot on, the down side is you have to pay 2 euro's each for a drink with your meal if you are on half-board basis, All the staff where very friendly, always sorted things out for you(We had a car booked to come but didn`t land so the lady with the blonde hair on front desk sorted out for us, a big thanks), We will return in the nearer future, the rooms were a bit dated but there were always clean and tidy, beds comfty, over all we had a good time and would recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a seaview room and an upper floor

“Popped in for a drink”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

This hotel was next door to the Azia Resort & Spa where we stayed for 3 days between 09 & 12 October.

We have stayed at this hotel on 3 occasions previously and wanted to visit it to see how it was.

We went in the evening and listened to a big lad singing songs on the stage and ordered a drink. I ordered a gin and tonic and my wife ordered a cointreau. Both did not taste of what we ordered so I asked if gin had been put in my gin & tonic and was offer more to add with the proviso that if it didn't taste ok they would add even more gin into it.

It still didn't taste of gin and I suspect it was highly watered down.

My wife's cointreau tasted more of e-numbers and sugar.

I'm sad the hotel was like this but I guess it is unsurprising if a major revamp is due and here is the good news.

When I returned home there was an email waiting for me with details of what they are going to be doing.

It certainly make me interested to stay to see if they have done everything that they say they will.
