“Nearly a very good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Our stay coincided with some very bad wet and windy weather. This unfortunately this meant that the stairs going up to our room were very wet and slippery (and dangerous with bags). The rain water also came in the bathroom window (somehow) flooding the floor which refused to dry. The second morning there was no hot water.

On the positive side, the staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms were large and adequately stoked for self catering (except washing up liquid). There were good lighting and plenty of power sockets (a clincher for a good hotel). Beds were very comfortable and cosy.

Overall I was happy with the hotel. I guess staying mid summer would be very different.

Room Tip: If the weather is bad, stay downstairs

“Pleasant stay”

Just returned from a week at Theo. Overall, it is nice. Rooms are clean and spacious.... and the view is awesome. Room was cleaned everyday.

We had booked for a studio, but got upgraded on getting there with a one bed aptmt ( which was great!). Staff are mostly nice and friendly.

Indoor Pool on the other hand, was too cold and small. Gym was not very well equipped either.

Restaurant is beautiful at night with awesome views. Food is ok for a day or 2 , but then gets repetitive.... I must add, they made the effort to make a veg dish specially for me as I had told them the previous night I was a vegetarian ( that was a nice touch)

Room Tip: 1st floor rooms have better views.

“Friendly and well positioned”

Having just returned from a weeks break we would have to say that the staff and waiters were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean and kept clean on a daily basis, the bonus of having a TV with a USB player meant we could play our own music through the TV.
We were disapointed that the indoor pool was not heated and that the cover was not taken off during the time we were there. We had a problem with ants in our room which was delt with by the maid on a daily basis. The heating in the apartment did not work until 5pm so the afternoons could be quite cold, also the heating in the hotel was very poor and some nights we had to wear coats in the dinning room. The meals served in the evening were good we had the choice of various dishs from a diluted al a carte menu but all the food served in the evening was of a high standard. The breakfast was OK but some of the hot food was less than warm and coissant's could be a little stale. The 2 euro a day bus ticket is excellent value and well worth using, you can travel anywhere in the area all day as much as you want.

Room Tip: You need to go for the 900 series rooms for the best sea views

“Excellent”

Stayed here last September and had an amazing stay. Michael upgraded our sea view studio apartment to a one bedroomed apartment. A very well equipped room with an amazing view. Cleaners came on a daily basis and did a great job. Pani and Anete in the bar did a great job looking after us especially making sure we got the football on the telly even if it was on silent as the entertainment was on. Would highly recommend. “Relaxing Hotel, Friendly Staff, Good Food, Spacious Apartments”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

Just returned from a family break from 26/12/11 to 6/1/12 at Theo Sunset Bay Holiday Village

Apartments were spacious and well equipped, always kept clean and some had good sea views. The heating was a little hit and miss and the Hotel only put this on from about 5pm in the apartments and the Hotel its self was heated by a series of calor gas heaters - it was really designed for the summer, but the staff did their best to keep the hotel warm in the winter.

Location was about 6km from Paphos Centre - 5 minutes by hire car (very cheap about 12 Euros a day to hire) or TOP TIP, buy a 2 Euro Bus Ticket which covers the whole area for one day - multiple trips - children go free!

Not really a child friendly hotel in the winter, as pool was too cold and only entertainment was a pool & table tennis table. Not much to keep children entertained. Evening entertainment was provided about 2 or 3 times a week, usually in the form of a singer with his keyboard & guitar - was very good. Free Wi-fi link was a god send to keep my daughter occupied

Special mention to the bar staff - PAUL & ASTA who learnt our names, took time to talk to us and made us feel very welcome.

Summary

Good food
Friendly Staff
Spacious Apartments
Location a bit out of town
