“Cheap and Cheerful”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Have to say I found the rooms quite small, but as i was travelling alone the room was adequate for me.

Yes the rooms could do with a bit a redecoration, but the room was clean, the sheets fresh and the bathroom was adequate.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the food plentiful but there was not too much choice, but as there was so few of us staying there not surprising.

Yes there is a main road to cross to get to the beach, but there are lights outside the hotel, the only problem is the button to stop the traffic is on the other side, but the lights change to let the traffic turn into the car park next to the hotel.

“Holiday from hell”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

First room 12 x 13, single wardrobe no cupboard space, 12 inch TV on the wall, did not un pack first day, moved to a new room, larger but no better, same telly, Toilet seat was to small for the toilet, different color toilet seat, grouting hit and miss on the tiles, electrical wall plugs not finished, no phone for ten days, fire doors wedged open (against the law), food worse then basic, no hot or warm plates for any breakfast meal, egg, beans and sausage (German), egg, beans and bacon and cold, main meal at night was pork or chicken wings, same fish three days running very sloppy fish, desert was jelly every day with cream carramell and a fruit salad in orange juice. Most the staff appeared to be Eastern European, Jacuzzi was without water, sauna not working, loungers all torn and holed, no entertainment in the evenings apart from one Greek night which was mainly for the Greek students, these students were racing up and down the corridors all night.

If you go on holiday don't go to the Arsinoe.

Room Tip: there are none having tried two rooms

“You get what you pay for”

I read the reviews before we went to the hotel, and quite honestly, I wasn't looking forward to it, but it wasn't nearly as bad as some people made out.

Our room was cleaned daily and the food was good, although it seemed to be the same every night. The only complaint that I had was with the other guests, it seems they don't seem to grasp the concept of a queue. They just come along and push in past you at the buffet, it's a bit like a cattle market!! One guest even came along and pushed a child away from the buffet so that he could get at it first.

There is nothing wrong with the hotel or the staff, but the guests could maybe learn some manners.

Room Tip: We had room 432 and had no complaints.

“Dont go if you can't speak russian.”

This was the second time we have been to this hotel but I must say that since the first visit 5 years ago nothing has been done to improve or maintain this hotel. Don't know how they get away with calling it a Beach Hotel as there is a main road inbetween the hotel and Beach. The room was just adequate but had a bad smell each time you entered. The furniture was falling apart, there was no hair dryer and the tv did not work. The balcony had chunks of render falling off, risky if you were there and a minor quake hit. The food was varied but the burners meant to keep the food warm were hardly ever lit resulting in cold meat and veg after about 15 mins. Around the pool the sun loungers were in bad condition, many in desperate need of repair and although the smaller pool looked clean there were times when the pump and filter system was not working. The lifts worked ok but the rubber flooring in one was a trip hazzard. Internet access was available but cost 1 euro for about 8 mins !! and was awfully slow. Entertainment was average and repeated after a week. The maids and staff worked hard and I had no complaints about their efforts to clean the room, just beware of the 'plate patrols' who constantly scour the restuarant for empty plates and wizz them away just as you finish your last mouthfull. Plenty of Russian guests staying there, seemed like 90%. If you are only half board as we were, the Hamlet bar just up the road is brill for snacks and happy hour starts at 1.00pm, good footy coverage too. Would I go back to this hotel again ? sorry but no.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms at the back of the hotel do not have a very good view of the sea. Other rooms at the...

“Disappointing”

First of all i read the reviews before i went but kept an open mind, sadly my misgivings were not unfounded, the "family room" we had was horribly inadequate, way too small, air conditioning didnt function and was never fixed despite constant requests, beds too small, food was not too bad but a constant same and bland, staff were moderately friendly but not overly impressed with their lack of any kinda urgency.

Activity wise and entertainment wise its pretty non existent, my 6 year old daughter entertainment was limited.

However the place was clean and tidy and maids constantly on the go.

overall experience was disappointing, not terrible, too quiet, food bland and monotonous, staff were ok just, room totally inadequate and they were unwilling the let us change, not enough activities to interest kids or adults for that matter, an experience and more suited to older couples looking for a retirement location or quiet relaxing peace free stay

Room Tip: dont expect much from the inadequate family rooms, stay away from them
