“Enjoyable stay, looking forward to returning again.”

I read some of the reviews below with some surprise. In my opinion, when measured against my own experience, one or two of the reviews below feel misleadingly negative. I have just returned after my 5th stay at the hotel since 2008, and plan to return next year.

I always chose the Jasmine when I visit Limassol since it is very conveniently located and staff have been unfailingly helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and provide all the basics for self catering - Fridge, two electric rings, pots, plates and cutlery, which helps keep costs down, since restaurants and coffee shops can be expensive for the sterling traveller. Sheets and towels are regularly changed, and there is heating in the rooms in winter, which has not always been my experience in other places. There is a useful coin laundry facility on site and free wi-fi at the pool (though not in the rooms or lobby). The bus stops are close by, with very regular city buses (the number 30 runs right along the length of the Limassol waterfront), as well as some intercity buses. The beach and a wide range of coffee shops and restarants are a few minutes walk away.

I am not sure it would necessarily be the best choice for the younger, clubbing/partying set. But otherwise, I would definitely recommend it as a friendly, family run, middle range hotel which provides good facilities and value for money in the centre of Limassol's tourist area.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool are quieter and have afternoon sun

“Value for the money”

We stayed during the last week in November. Paying that bit extra for a 1 bedroom apartment was worth it as it was spacious and complete with a small working kitchen. This enabled us to save a fortune in coffees alone! Each room had air conditioning which was reversible to an air source heat pump, handy for cool nights!
The hotel is situated on a main road, just before it joins the seafront road to the town. There was a fair bit of noise, as our accommodation was on that side, but we still slept fine. The rooms facing the pool would be quieter, though.
Though basic 3 star, it was clean enough and we found the staff friendly and helpful. As we were half board, breakfast was buffet style in the dining area, with a reasonable choice of hot and cold food. Dinner was waiter service, the menu having two choices for each course.
The food was certainly edible and the right amount for us.
Considering the price paid, it was good value if you just wanted a basic base. With the high price of food on the island, the hotel produced some tasty meals, which compared with the local food outlets prices, was real value.
If we had wanted five star, then we would have paid the going rate, but this did exactly what it said on the tin!

Room Tip: Ask for a pool-side room, away from the road noise.

My husband & I have just returned from 3 weeks in the Jasmine Hotel apartments, 2 weeks half board & 1 week B&B, we were in a studio apartment which are quite small. but have all necessary requirements, the bathroom although only has a half sink, & shower has to be held otherwise it would flood the bathroom, but we managed when we adapted, we had a studio overlooking the pool which is the quiet side, as the front is on a road with traffic noise, some people paid extra for a one bedroom apartment which we viewed & we would certainly opt to pay the extra for that next time, which we would definitely consider as the location is great for the lovely sandy beach, lovely to swim in, my husband & I are both pensioners, there are nice walks also, we had a car for 2 weeks, winter rates so not bad from Nov 1st, petrol a little cheaper than UK.buses are E2 a day as many times as you want, we used the bus to go to BIG BEN restaurant a great 3 course meal for E10.95 with a free bottle of wine for 2.

The food at the Jasmine is not too bad, a choice of 2 courses for starters, soup & another, a choice of 2 courses for main, but only 1 choice for dessert(only small) you have to buy a drink, but the Bakery supermarket is 2 mins walk away for lovely cakes, fresh bread, offers on drinks if you spend E20 on shopping.Breakfast is buffet, choice of cornflakes or bran flakes with a bowl of chopped apple/orange mainly sometimes extra fruit, scrambled egg/bacon/sausage/beans cooked, hard boiled eggs, olives,2 types of cheese, 2 types of ham, bread, toast butter, jam, plus coffee, tea, milk, orange juice(diluted) no water, all in a nice restaurant, a good start to the day. friendly staff.
Cleaning leaves a lot to be desired but adequate, main problem being WiFi, in winter you have to pay in hotel (expensive) in summer, the Ladybird cafe (independant to hotel) has free WiFi, but we really enjoyed our stay in the Jasmine & would certainly return, it was good value for price paid, but if you want a 5 star then you would have to pay for a 5 star hotel !!!!! hope this helps anyone, oh the pool is very good but cold, which in summer would probably be good to cool off in. a lift to higher floors.trips are quite expensive so hiring a car was a cheaper option to see the many places especially the lovely Troodos mountains.

Room Tip: 1 bedroom apartment pool side

The Jasmine has gone down hill in recent years. We stayed here for14 nights in September. The cleaning staff are either Russian or east European and seem to have retained the communist work ethic. The 14 nights we stayed there the bedroom carpet was never hoovered or swept, and the tiled floors were wiped over with a dirty damp mop which left streaks when dry.The Bathroom and kitchen area were wiped over wirh the same damp cloth. We cleaned them properly after they finished . On the second day we were there they had a poolside barbeque from 6.30 till 8.30.we booked it and pre paid for it.We arrived at the poolside at 7.45 and got served quickly as there were only two other people there. When the food arrived the meat was cold and completely dried out. When I Told the waiter/barman he shrugged his shoulders and said "you should have come in at 6.30 when it was cooked" and walked away. Luckily we were self catering so apart from this we didnt rely on the hotel for meals. The pool is nice with enough sun beds but it is open to the public for a small fee and it can be overrun by local teenagers especially at weekends .The Jasmine used to have a good reputation, but it has really gone downhill. We wont be staying there again and would not recommend it.

Room Tip: dont stay there

“An update on the Jasmine since 2007”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

some posts suggest that the Jasmine has gone down hill, I will start with the staff, and check in,the night porter was very prompt and polite, in fact all staff were as good as gold.

Our apartment was clean, but there was room for improvement with the fridge and cooking rings that were getting past their sell by date. The bed linen and towels were changed on a regular basis, the only faults were fridge- cooking rings, but we ate out all the time so no problem.

No entertainment except for a chicken walking around the pool and rabbits playing.
The one thing I did notice this time when I stayed there when I ran out of bottled water was that there was no separate tap for drinking water.

While we only had a couple of niggles I find it hard to believe some of the comments about the Jasmine.since we only paid £300 for an apt in Sept for ten days. it was not to bad at all. Julie
