This was our 4th visit to the 4 Seasons but the first for 5 years and I was delighted to see that they had maintained their own very high standards. Previously we have been on package tours but this time we went for a "create your own" and booked hotel and transport seperately. The hotel kindly arranged taxi transport for us (just email the concierge) who was duly waiting for us at Larnaca airport (despite a flight delay) and who delivered us safely to the hotel some 40 minutes later. The price charged by the hotel is pretty much the same as local taxi companys and takes the hassle out of the arrangements.
The room was large, very clean and well appointed. Bathrooms have a double whirlpool bath and a rainfall shower. The shower can be very strong so take a deep breath before first getting under! We had an inland view but the sea view is nicer if you can afford it - nothing between you and the ocean.
The service was impeccable from the outset. A very smooth check in, a free cocktail at the bar, very attentive service at both breakfast buffet (wow - what a meal!) and bar service in the evening. I can thoroughly recommend the Bellini's in the bar.
We tried the Oriental restaurant in the hotel and again, this was first class. Food was up there with the best oriental food I have eaten and the service was excellent without being an interference.
The weather in January was a bit mixed. There was some rain and also some very warm days. It was rarely cold (days were c 16 degrees, evenings cooler) would recommend taking both a raincoat and some t-shirts, plus long sleeves for the evening.
Not quite sure why we have left it 5 years to return, but we certainly won't be leaving it another 5 before we go back. Hotel is perfect for couples (lovely accomodation and has an adults only pool) but is also family friendly with large pool for children/families.
