Welcome was non existent from reception - there was a reluctant acceptance we had arrived and surley handing over of room magnetic key card with no explanation of how to get to the room.
Reception dark and dingy, dated and very well worn.
Hotel has carpets and these are dirty and disgusting making the whole hotel stink.
The first room we were offered (104) was apalling, smelly and with filthy bed covers that had not been washed in many many months if ever. Sheets had holes in them exposing stained bed mattresses. Stained pillows.
On complaining we were offered a second room (117) which was marginally brighter but little better.
Swimming pool was unavailable on arrival and we were told it was being cleaned - it wasnt usable until the next day.
Location near the junction of 2 main roads is far from ideal & I guess the adjacent fire station would be noisey (it was in the half hour or so we were at this awful hotel).
We decided to stay elsewhere & didnt regret it.
Unless you want to stay in a hotel with 'doss house' standards then look elsewhere.

Our stay started with having to have the toilet seat removed and replaced, it was filhy. Should have left then. Breakfasts not good grill obviously not clean as bacon covered in black bits. Tea urn was rarely hot, previous days cold meat hot the next morning Do not believe their write up, No hair dryer no radio, had been disconnected. No satelite TV in rooms. Asked about internet told it was only at their other hotel same answer for the Gym and steam room. No theme nights you've guessed it the other hotel. I wasted my air miles on this week I complained while there to airmiles and by letter when I returned to UK I did receive £50 from the hotel but they denied all my claims. I felt if a family booked this with chidren they would have been so disappointed, luckily we were moving on. The only good thing about this hotel is the pool.

I booked this budget accomodation as I am considering moving to the island and I wanted to get to know the area as my husband is keen on some of the developments nearby.

Firstly the apartments are outside Larnaca and it is about 15 minutes drive to the town centre but I like having nice places to walk to and you don't really get that here. I walked for half an hour in both directions and didn't find anywhere I'd want to eat or drink. I managed breakfast in an ex-pat bar and was the only person in there! 6E for a nescafe and the worst fry-up I've ever eaten! needless to say, we went into Larnaca a lot. It also didn't impress me that I struggled to find any fresh fruit and the two local kiosks I found that seem to sell nothing but Pringles and beach towels!

The hotel itself has a traditional feel when you walk in which I liked but when you get to the rooms it is a bit much. The furniture was broken and most of the electric sockets were of the old style from the 70's. But you live with that, we had to just unplug the TV when we wanted to do anything.

It was very quiet which was a plus as I had the pool to myself a lot of the time but couldn't stay there very long as for some reason there were a lot of flies and insects and the showers didn't work.

Breakfast was dull and not much choice but as expected, fine if you like frankfurters and hard boiled eggs.

Again, I seem to say this fairly frequently about Cypriot hotel staff, not the best I've experienced, but on the last day i managed to lock myself in the bathrooms in the basement. The doors get stuck very easily and this was a maintainence issue. The place just needs some TLC and it will be fine for those that like peace and quiet with an ex-pat bar on the doorstep if they need it.

One huge plus point is the very regular bus service from just outside the hotel. I counted 5 buses go past in an hour which is a very rare sight in Cyprus!

Just come back from a week holiday at the Sveltos and it was not as bad as i was expecting. After reading the reviews i was very worried about staying there and when we arrived the hotel appeared to be in the middle of nowhere, it looked a bit rundown and the nearby beach was pebbly. However we had a lovely holiday. The staff were friendly and helpful and the pool area was very clean. The room was basic and only had one plug socket but the air conditioning was excellent. The half board was disappointing with a very small selection, no drinks or desserts. Also i found the brochure very misleading, it was not 10mins away from the harbour and it took atleast 15-20 mins to walk to the nearby shops and a taxi ride to Larnaca town. We booked the Sveltos Hotel as a late deal and felt we got what we paid for. It was a basic hotel, that had a lovely pool area but we ended up spending lots of money on travelling and food.
