I chose this hotel because it looked OK and was advertised as being 10 minutes from the airport - it's not! And, it was far from OK.
The purpose of my stay was to spend a week with my daughter who lives in the UAE so we were meeting up half way. Consequently I didn't pay too much attention to the venue - big mistake!
In short the hotel is a dump: The decor was very dated, generally the place was unclean and the staff (if you managed to find someone) were either rude or unhelpful.
To make matters worse Larnaca is also a dump! The remote location of Sveltos meant Taxis were necessary. All the Taxi drivers we encountered were rude and tried to rip us off. Restaurants were also bad. Food poor and over priced. Beaches were horrible.
Do NOT go here - you have been warned !!

Had holidays..... in Sveltos. First impression was not bad, but after few days we noticed, that rooms are dirty, laundry change is rare and toilets smells bad. Seems, not enough people works in hotel, these who works are not interested to work normally. Probably they are not payd enough. In breakfast strange old dirtyclothed man added water to coffee water boiler and as this boiler never boiled actually, we had stomache problems after... Tables are dirty in restaurant, lobby is dusty and doorglasses with staines. Aircondition dont work in lobby at all, in rooms sometimes. And the hotel is far from Larnaca, u must rent a car to travel normally in this heat.
I have to say, that in small Greek family hotel in greek island we have had much more beautiful surroundings, better food and cleaner rooms. We do not recommend Sveltos hotel for holidays.

We stayed in the hotel for 12 nights. The price was excellent, I booked the stay few months ago. It is a medium hotel, old but improved by new painting, curtains and air conditioning installation. They have a good poll, and a small one for children. Buffet English breakfast. Far from the city center (7 km) and the sandy beach, but very closed from a stony beach. Friendly staff; maybe if they will have more maids (they have only two for 46 rooms), the rooms will be less dusty. Briefly, affordable holiday at the seaside.

So, the reviews below are pretty shocking. Two years later, we went in June - it had just opened end of May. Things had been upgraded, still more work to be done but we found it great! Cocktails a wee bit expensive compared to what we were used to. Friendly staff. I think they are more to do with package deals than the random traveller popping in to book a night but we did, got offered a good price that included breakfast. The pool was fantastic. The room - yes a bit retro but us kiwi´s like retro. Nothing wrong with the room, everything worked, airconditioning was directed right at the bed which was awesome! It was so quiet even though it is on a busy road. Big carpark, with trees, so you can park in the shade (yah!) We would totally stay here again. If you are laid back and don't expect too much, then you´ll love this place.
