“Home from Home in Cyprus...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

I spent three weeks at Lucky Hotel Apartments in Larnaca, Cyprus, and enjoyed my stay there immensely... It is conveniently located just a few minutes from the beach, and barely five minutes from the Larnaca CBD...
It is agreat place to have a quiet holiday away from the hustle and bustle, and high prices of the city itself...
This family owned and run hotel makes you feel at home, and my needs were always handled with a smile...
My room was neat and clean and spacious enough to handle all my luggage, which, considering that I am traveling around the world on a motorbike, is considerable...!!
I would highly recommend Lucky's as a great value for money hotel, where service is given with a smile...

“Lucky striked”

We were invited by friends to visit Cyprus and due to a miscomunication we were booked 2 nights at this hotel. Everything else was sold out during these dates that we will always remember...
The rooms were dirty, the bed linen was torn apart and the room was full of ants.
The pool was so dirty that we were wondering how some parents allowed their small kids to swim in it. Totally disgusting. The toilet looked cleaner than the pool.
The staff was so bored they didn't even try to smile at us.
The breakfast was poorer than anyone can imagine. The quality of it? Sorry, can't tell. Did not have the courage to try it.
At check out when I paid the bill, I had to ask for the receipt and it was obvious they were not happy about it.

I really feel Lucky I left this place the next day with no infections, bed bug bites etc.
Stay away!

Room Tip: If you MUST book a room at this hotel, at least ask for the renovated ones.

Dear Alfralfa,

I would like to take this opportunity to reply to this review!

Regarding Rooms, If we where advised in advance about any problems with your room we would have arranged to fix any issues that you had, if you did not bring any issue to our awareness then how could we help?
Regarding Ants if you had told us from before then we could arrange to terminate them, as ants happen to appear in hot countries more often than in other countries!

Also If the pool was so Dirty then why was Children Playing in it, I am sure the parents know better than you if its safe and clean for there own Children to enter a pool, and Regular Check ups are Done weekly,

Regarding the Receipt, there was confusion because you thought that your friends that invited you to Cyprus had paid, but your friends did not pay, that's why a receipt was not given to you until you paid! after you paid A receipt was given as requested!

I think the staff was always very happy to assist you, they even advised the exact house for the Taxi to go to when you wanted to visit for the wedding of your dear friend getting married!!

Also For Rooms to be renovated it means that our hotel is taking Procedures in Certain Situations and improving all the time, Also I would like to Revert regarding the Breakfast:
you paid 5 Euro per person, and that included:
Juice,
Coffee (Nescafe, Cappuccino)
Tea,
Milk.
Cereals,
3 Jams,
Honey,
Toast,
Fruit,
Boiled eggs,
Waffles,
Ham,
2 types of Cheese,
Salami,
Oats,
Cyprus Olives,
Tomato,
Cucumber,
Water
etc...

So if you took a close look at the Breakfast then you would have seen all this, but I am aware and know which guest you are and I remember that you did not even have Breakfast!

Thank you and its a wonder all the good reviews don't get posted and People like you come for two days and expect to have 5 star facilities and you paid 45 Euro for two persons together, what did you expect my friend!!!!!

Kind Regards,
Manager/Owner

“Be Aware before Booking this place”

If you are looking for a very cheap stay (30-35 euros a night) and some hot sun and are not fussed about the state of your room then this could be for you. If however you are looking for a little more quality and to feel clean and comfy then this is NOT the place for you.
My father through the internet pictures and price booked this hotel for a short stay. We were not looking for the Ritz but a place where we felt comfortable. Had this been for a longer stay we would have left this hotel immediately and looked for another but with time being short to look elsewhere due to our circumstances of our stay in this area we stuck it out and basically used it as little as possible!
Do not be fooled by the nice looking pictures seen on websites. There are only a few good things about the Lucky Hotel/apts. The outside areas including a nice pool appear to be looked after far better and cleaner than the rooms you will stay in. The bar area looked to be ok to. The view from our room was pleasant as we looked out over the pool area and towards Larnaca and its Port in the distance and the other bonus is the free internet access and that's where it ends.
We used 2 rooms before going down to 1 room after 1 night. They were both spacious but in dire need of an upgrade. I doubt very much if these rooms have been upgraded since the place was built. The kitchen area was dreadful, dirty cupboards, dirty worktops with stains and burn marks over them. Kitchen Cupboard doors had handles missing and some veneer broken off the door facia’s. Inside the cupboards all the shelves surfaces were cracked with the surfaces breaking up. A plastic draining tray was absolutely filthy and in need of throwing away. The fridge ice compartment door was broken and the fridge made such a noise that we had to turn it off at night to try and get some sleep. The put you up bed was awful to sleep on. The furniture in the rest of the room was stained and faded. Carpets in the bedroom had marks all over them. The curtains were in a dreadful condition. Plastic chairs to use on the balcony were dirty and had not been cleaned. I left all my clothes in my suitcase as I did not want to hang them in the wardrobes which had see far better days. The bathroom areas were grubby and I doubt these have ever been replaced since the place was built; tiles had broken off around the bath and had been replaced with tiles that do not match. A light cover over the mirror was missing. Dirt was grind into the grouting between the tiles on the walls and the flooring. The toilet door was in a poor state of repair. The pedestal under the basin had a hole in it, but hey if you don’t mind all of this and have seen my videos if they have uploaded successfully then this is the place for you.
I would guess it would cost a small fortune to bring this place up to an acceptable standard which it so dearly needs and probably deserves but maybe our own standards are much higher than this Hotel’s.
We did not eat at all at the Hotel so no idea what the food is like.
Would we stay again - No never! Would we recommend the Lucky Hotel/Apts - No never!
Sorry Mr Hotel owner but you cannot fail to see your hotel needs some TLC and urgent to, bring it up to scratch and it will serve you well.

Room Tip: Noise can be heard if on the first floor from bar

“Lucky apartments”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2010

Have recently returned for staying at the Lucky Hotel apartments just outside Larnaca.
Searched for any info but the internet brochures just said close to the beach,so decided to start my own comments.
The apartments were comfortable and clean but i n serious need of a make over.Decor was simple but most of the equipment in the aprtment was old and a bit tatty.Towels frayed, showers though clean were old and obvious signs where they had been repaired.
The swimming pool and gardens were very pleasant though I never saw anyone actually cleaning the pool. The people and staff were so very friendly and helpful acting almost as quickly as you asked.
"Close to the beach".Well yes around 5 minutes walk, but not the best of beaches.Quite dirty in places.Sunbeds around 2.30 euro.Far better to walk to palm beach around 1km away where the beaches were better.
A few restaurants around and plenty of shops to buy self catering stuff.
In my opinion a car is needed as it wasn't the best situated location.

I cannot say it was bad but a case of we got what we paid for,a cheapie so I was of the mind that it was reasonable for the price.better places to go but more expensive.
Altogether no serious complaints.

“Does exactly what it says on the tin!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2010

We booked lucky hotel because of its VERY resonable rates and good location.
Myself, 2 friends and my 2 year old son all stayed for 30 Euro's per night total! The Staff were lovely, the pool was clean, the rooms were basic but what do you expect for less than 10 euro's each! Great service and handy little play area to keep kids occupied with table and chairs close by so you can soak up the sun whilst kids are entertained. We really enjoyed ourselves there and even though we only stayed 2 nights we still popped back a couple of times during our trip to use the pool and say hello to the staff. I would definatly stay there again.
