Yet again we decided to spend the festive period at the Ship Inn.We stayed in a s/c villa and everything was perfect. Bedding and towels changed daily and everything cleaned beautifully. We took breakfast in the hotel as and when we felt and it was good with plenty of choice. I cannot understate how wonderful the staff are from gardeners, cleaners, reception and waiters - they all do their utmost to make you welcome and are most helpful.The only downside was that the weather was unfavourable for a few days but then sun as normal. We enjoyed meeting up with friends met over the years at the Ship and look forward to our next visit.

Once again we have had a great 4 weeks at the hotel. It was lovely meeting up with friends we have made over the years.Going to The Ship is like going home where all the staff make you feel so welcome. In the restaurant the staff under Zube the head waiter are very attentive to your needs even giving directions to where you would like to visit. Well done The Ship.

We went to Kyrenia last May. The flight is quite long from Manchester, but when we got there the hotel complex was fine - we had a room in a villa at the far end of the pool from the main hotel. The staff were obliging and informative about local trips. The main disadvantages were that there were no lifts to our floor, and the hotel is situated just that bit too far from the centre to walk comfortably - hiring the hotel-attached cab was usually worthwhile for a day in town. Another disadvantage was that the masseuse spoke no English.

We stayed at the Ship Inn Hotel in Oct 2011 ,the hotel is very pleasant , clean with a nice pool and sun loungers round the pool the area was cleaned every morning.
The room we took was at the back of hotel as recommended by others on here and must say they were right,you over look an Olive orchard ( saw locals picking & hotel olives are there own) with a village in distant with a back drop of mountains.
Lovely to sit out as the sun set over the mountains listening to the calls of the mullahs from the village and is very quite at night so good night sleep.The rooms are very clean with the usual amenities plus a fridge which has drinks in spirits ,wine soft drinks,water etc which you have to pay for.The hotel states that you cant bring food or drink into hotel all have got to be purchased from hotel,but everyone did just hid it in room.They have a system where your giving a card to purchase drink,food etc and then settle when you want to.
The breakfast is brillant with cerals,honey ,yogurt. cheese ,cold meats ,all type of eggs boiled ,scrambled ,fried and poached(poach eggs are brillant) so cant see anyone complaining if so you are a very fussey person.
The head waiter there is fantastic (just had his 1st child so look a bit tired ) but you can ask him anything aboput where to go and then he draw you a fantastic map which you never get lost.We cant say what evening food was like as we ate out every night a good place to eat is the Verander resturant about 10mins from hotel in car/taxi ( turn right onto main road and is sign posted on the right ,so good we went twice ,good food.
You need a taxi to get into Kyrenia as its about 30-40 min walk to Old harbour where all the eating places are but to see cyprus you need a car to see see the real cyprus .We hired a car and did nearly 2000km traveling and we came across some wonderful places up in the mountains and up in the Northern part where there is wild donkeys and beautiful beaches.
So my advice is hire a car/jeep as site seeing trips are very expensive and petrol is approx £1 litre (remember when it was in uk ) and they drive same side as uk,a little tip drive with your dips on as they dont seem to see cars that well in the day.
