We knew we wanted to stay in a central location close to the harbour and town and had a list of 3 hotels that we already knew were within walking distance: The Dome Hotel, The Colony and The British Hotel. One was cheap and cheerful, one at around €100 per room per night and the other a bit over this price.

The British Hotel was the one we chose – and we were very pleased with it. We were allocated Rooms 203 and 204 on the second floor which gave us a view across the harbour. Not an altogether clear view as there was some slight obstruction but the owner had moved us up a floor at no extra cost which was fantastic!

The rooms had laminate flooring with modern dark wood furniture, crisp white duvets/continental quilts and dark purple counterpanes. A couple of purple coloured chairs complimented the room. A small fridge/mini-bar with reasonable prices (5TL for a beer – approx €2). The bathroom was perfectly adequate and clean as well as sporting a full length shower curtain. An added bonus was a small TV in the bedroom.

Our small balcony with 2 chairs looked out over the harbour and the sea to the left or over to the roof bar of a neighbouring hotel in front of us along the harbour front called the White Pearl.

We will definitely return to the British Hotel for another visit!

We have just enjoyed a weeks holiday in this lovely spot in Kyrenia, We have been before to the resort
& we promised ourselves if we came again we would stay at this hotel right on the harbourside. It has fulfilled all our expectations & more. It is a small hotel which does bed & breakfast however it is very comfortable with every facility you would expect from a larger hotel and the staff cannot do enough for you. The rooms are spacious & very quiet at night, the location is superb & the views from the rooftop terrace & bar are beautiful.
We will definitely be back.!!!

This hotel is extremely good value and is only a 1 minute walk to the harbour edge. Alright its not on the harbour side but would you want all the tourist noise till 1 a.m. if you were. Many of teh rooms do have a view of the sea especially the upper 2 floors.
The staff were very helpful and the in house drink prices cheaper than restaurants. As for Jazz2489 comments abut the breakfast; if you want double eggs and bacon try marbella or Aya Napa. The Turks normally eat cheese yogurt sliced meat and 1 egg omlette. Maybe thats why you dont see fat Turkish Cypriots?
As for Aangs comments of lots of soldiers with what looked like machine guns around, yes they were machine guns, not pea shooters. Just like teh UK they have an army , though what on earth this has to do with a travel site , I dont know.

Gorgeous position is the best part!
Stayed on third floor, was quiet so was offered a choice of three rooms between two couples. Two rooms next to the lift, which if they get busy is very noisy! All rooms - well i couldn't decide if they wanted us to continue peeling the wallpaper off or stick it back down!!!!!!!!! The ceilings were coated in a layer of black mould! Really really wanted to walk out, but my partner said it would be an experience - and boy was it!!!!!
Next morning shower didn't work, so had to crouch under mixer tap to shower (was the same in our friends room! After asking about six times at breakfast for them to fix the shower, they said they had - brilliant!
Next morning - yes they had replaced the shower lead with no washers, so it splurted out all over the place, so again crouched under the mixer tap!
Electrics - well need a lot to be desired! Will try and upload photos!
Breakfast - your choice of egg - yes i did say egg! omellette/scrambled or boiled! with a small anemic collection of meat and plastic cheese, yoghurt and cereal, just dip into the bowl/box!
Never ever ever ever again! Basic is just not the word!
If you like Faulty Towers please go it will amuse you - please take some wallpaper paste to glue the wallpaper down and something to remove the mould from the ceiling!
Oh & right next to a mosque very useful for waking you up in the morning lol!
