Spent a weekend at the Sonnenhof - lovely staff, beautiful room (and it was an upgrade from what I reserved!!), spectacular views, and great food. We spent two nights and ate in the hotel restaurant both nights, once in the dining room and the second of the deck -- both fabulous meals. Great service - everyone had a smile and a lovely greeting. The only thing that bothered me was the hairdryer in the room and no mirror over the desk -- the hairdryer that was provided was useless (and in order to use it, the 'on' button needed to be held down constantly). A nice hairdryer in the desk draw with a mirror over the desk, would have been nice -- THANKFULLY, I had my own hairdryer ;))
The breakfast as good as well -- altho we ordered eggs, which came without toast.... which we then ordered and waited for. The next morning we ordered eggs WITH TOAST, which came again without toast, which we again had to order. Perhaps we are the only ones who eat toast with eggs?
A great place and would definitely recommend!

For the past 12 years we have been visiting the Parkhotel Sonnenhof having returned at least once a year to this haven of relaxation, excellent cuisine and wonderful surroundings. Last November we were visiting and saw that major changes were taking place both with an external extension to the restaurant and in the gardens. Typically, when things are excellent the last thing one wants to see is changes. We were the same and wish they were not doing any changes.

Two weeks ago we returned to the hotel and the changes are superb. They have been introduced so empathetically with both guest and the environment in mind. Even when improving the garden they did not remove trees but replanted them preserving and indeed improving the garden substantially.

Having the superb cuisine of Hubertus Real in the new plunge open air restaurant was a wonderful experience.

In summary, having visited hotels all over the world the Parkhotel Sonnenhof remains our favourite. We thought it couldn't get better but then it just did.

One tip would be to go walking at Malbun for the day and then have the taster menu at the Maree Restaurant, Parkhotel Sonnenhof!

Obviously, we will return as soon as possible.

Service and Quality of this Hotel is remarkable. The best place certainly in this area. We are used to many Palaces, but the "boutique size" of this Hotel and its charm are uncomparable to many.... We strongly recommend this place to enjoy visiting the area. The Restaurant is also exceptionnal and the view is fantastic. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we did.

We stayed for two nights in Sonnenhof hotel and we really appreciated the quietness of the place. The decoration of the rooms is absolutely charming and comfortable. The view from the gardens is fascinating and the children enjoyed the pool which is totally relaxing. Moreover the staff was very kind and helpful. We highly recommand this place !
