Just spend a few days in Luxemburg for the 1st time. Found this hotel for a reasonable price and were happy to find out the bathroom was just renovated. A spacious with comfy beds and a small kitchenette (without pots or pans though).
Just 15 mins, walk from the city centre or the train station and close to a Bike-rental point.
Woudl definitely recommend this is you're visiting this city.
I wouldn't say there is anything spectacular about this hotel, but there is nothing to complain about either. The price could have been lower, but then again, it was rather nice looking and comfortable. The breakfast was pretty good compared to many of my experiences in the region. The location was fitting the price, a short 10 minute walk from the center of town. Parking was readily available on the street nearby. Like I said, it served its purpose.
I stayed one night during a business trip in Nov 2010. Arriving hungry at 10pm after a very long journey only to find the hotel kitchen just closing, the helpful Receptionist ran to ask the chef to stay a bit longer and cook me something before she even completed my check-in. The chef prepared a delicious meal on a tray which I took up to my room. Every staff member was equally helpful, especially the nIght porter, Denis. Free still and sparkling water in the fridge was a nice touch too.
Like other reviewers, I stayed in room 630 which is in fact a spacious studio flat under the roof complete with kitchen and sitting area. The room was very clean but the furnishing fabric, the shower curtain and some fittings are stained and ready for renewal.
Unfortunately I had to keep calling Reception for things I needed that were not in the room e.g. an iron & ironing board (for which I had to pay a Euros 25 deposit on the iron !), soap (only shower gel in the bathroom. It took them 40 minutes to locate a bar of soap as apparently they don't stock it anymore), a cup, spoon and something to boil water in (the kitchenette is completely empty of any basic equipment, the electric kettle they brought did not work), a coat hanger (all the many closets were to short to hang my winter coat in).... By the time I had sorted all that out, it was well after midnight.
The room was very quiet except for the noise of the nearby elevator.
Spent 2 nights there.
This one looks like a family run hotel with very nice staff.
It is not located in the city centre, but you can easily walk there within 10-15 minutes. The bus stops is nearby though.
The room was a nice surprise, as it is large studie, with a kitchen and microwave.
The breakfast was better than average.
