I had to take this hotel because everything in the centre was full that day. I would not recommend it to anybody. Rude, uninterested staff. Room had a dirty feeling and smell (I had a large, "more expensive" corner room). Location is own choice, personally I definitely prefer to stay in the centre, but if you prefer the station neigbourhood, the location is OK.

The location is directly across from Gare train station, which takes you anywhere you need to in Luxembourg City. The room was a decent size for two people (I suggest asking for a corner room). The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were doing some renovations on the hotel, but since we were there from Saturday to Sunday, we didn't hear anything. A great deal!

I attended a conference at the university of Luxembourg. The empire was ideal in all respects - reasonable price, ideal location (station, buses, central post office next door), great breakfast, nice and helpful staff. OK it's not a luxury place but it was clean and very good value.
