Quaint and beautiful little hotel. Staff were very warm and welcoming, although a bit of difficulty for English-speaking travellers. Restaurant was beautiful and a bright and delightful place to have breakfast. Music from the streets in the evening was calming and relaxing. About a 15-20 min walk to the center of the city. Would definitely come back again next time!

I looked for not very expensive hotels in Luxembourg capital, and based on internet-info, hotel-restaurant "Italia" seemed to be a good choice. And it has appeared to meet my expectations.
Of course, those that are looking for luxurous accomodation or are spoilt with everything excellent , should not stay there. But , being a budget traveller, I appreciate service, attitude, tidy rooms.. And I have found all these in "Italia". It is a small hotel located above the Italian restaurant, i.e. there is , in fact, no reception - you pay for accomodation at the restaurant.

The atmosphere was very friendly, I liked the personnel.
The room seemed to be in 70-s style. But, again, - tidy, comfortable bed. Good , clean and renovated bathroom.
There are two minor things that , in my opinion, can be "improved":
- there were no shampoos in the bathroom. (But who knows - maybe the hotel-maid forgot to put them, so it was not a problem for us).
- breakfast. One is supposed to choose between tea and coffe, but the food is scarce - just small bread and jams/butter. Following a healthy life-style, one can be confused with that :). So was I.

Moreover, perfect location (city centre, a few steps from the railway station) add value to this hotel.
In general, this place has been a good choice.

This hotel was lovely! We stayed as part of a trip organised by my Law School to visit the city and I was very impressed. I have high standards when it comes to hotels and was a little apprehensive however despite the hotel being stuck in a 60's/70's time-warp it was immpecably clean and the staff were lovely and friendly. Yes, the hotel is dated but I couldn't fault it in any other way. Would definately return. (And the restaurant serves lovely homecooked food too!)

When we walked into our room we busted out laughing. Yes, you are stepping back into time. You suspect it from the moment you walk into the restaurant/lobby, but it will become very apparent when you open your room door. It is all very late 60's/early 70's. To make it complete they would just need to add green shag carpet. You expect to run into Sophia Loren in the hall. But it was clean, and the shower was warm. And the rates are significantly less than the others in the same area. I guess they keep the rates low by not remodeling. But go with the right attitude and enjoy your trip back in time.
