This Hotel has very old and nasty rooms. You can't walk bare foot in the room. The bathroom is very old and yacky. The showerhead is a line shooting at you. There is no outlet to hook up you laptop. The internet is so slow and I was charged $66 Euro for three-night usage. The location is far from everything if you planning to walk. Room prices are comparable to 4 star hotels. The only thing this hotel has going for, is their employee. Except for the front desk (they are ok) the rest of the staff are excellent. I recommend they drop the star rating and rates to comparable two star hotel not to trick people booking under DoubleTree name and rating. Then I gurantee people would stop writting negative reviews and the hotel manager doesn't need to reply with nonsense replies.

Ok, the place is kinda outdated and a little bit out of the way from the main area of town, but overall it was a nice stay. Some Pros: Great 24 hour room service, the food was delicious. Pretty views, friendly and professional staff.

Cons: The bed, sheets and pillow was very, very uncomfortable. We were given a room on the 13th floor with a panoramic view of the area, it was a nice touch, but the 13th floor was a smoking floor...yuck. Can't walk to this hotel, no transportation close by, but can easily access by car.

Overall, Luxembourg was an amazing town and this hotel was just ok.

Stayed here on business couple of times during the last 2 years. This stay it had been downgraded by the chain from Hilton to double tree by Hilton, while our corporate rate remained the same.
The location is nice, in the forest , couple of kilometers to the city centre, good if you have a car.
The building is about 25 years old, probably at one time it was built as an intercontinental, as the logo is still visible in the bathroom decoration. The bathroom is old. The furniture in the room is old. This time when I was there they were upgrading the tv to a flat screen. Unfortunately in an age where all of us have several electronic gadgets, laptops, mobiles, etc, there is only one electrical plug available in the room.
The personnel was friendly but as I did not find my Hilton club card, they claimed their system was a new one, and had not my info transferred from the old system, so they could not identify my membership number, so they could credit points earned with the stay .
Probably next time in Luxembourg we will stay at another place that is better but cheaper.

And that was the last time they apparently replaced the linens, carpets and the furniture. This hotel is located in the middle of nowhere. You have to drive outside of the actual city area navigating through a maze to find the hotel and then once you're there, you feel trapped because it's so far from everything and you're scared you won't be able to find it again, especially in the dark, if you leave. The staff was polite and tried to keep the room clean but everything was just so old and in bad condition that it didn't feel clean at all. The bathroom actually had a swirly gold glitter countertops and the carpets had cigarette burns on it. The hotel reminded me of an eastern block communist apartment building. The breakfast in the hotel was substantial and the wait staff was young and helpful but clearly very busy.
