We stayed at Hotel Nobilis in mid-October, 2003. This hotel advertises itself as a 4-star - THAT IS FAR FROM THE TRUTH. We would not stay at this hotel again.Here are the bad points:When we first walked into the hotel, we were shocked by how bad it smells. There was a strong and very unpleasant smell throughout the hotel, even in our room (my husband thinks it's the cleaners they use). I wanted to open the window in our room to air it out, but the window handle had been removed by the hotel staff. I called down to the front desk to ask them how to open the window, but they did not understand me. The staff at this hotel barely speaks any English at all. This was a major problem, for they could not be of any help with any of our questions. I finally managed to explain myself to the staff, and they brought up a window handle.The room itself was OK. Keep in mind that it does not have an alarm clock (many hotels in Europe don't have alarm clocks). Taking a shower presented a bit of a problem. Apparently, they dont hang the shower curtain high enough, and the shower faces the bathroom (instead of facing the wall, as is usually done). If you turn the shower on to regular pressure/capacity, half of the water ends up on the floor (so you are forced to strategically align yourself between the shower and the curtain).The breakfast at this hotel is very disappointing. The service at breakfast is terrible (at least when you come later on in the morning), and there is not much food variety.As a highlight of our stay at Hotel Nobilis, we saw some kind of a bug scurrying on the bathroom floor.Now, for the good points:This hotel has a pretty good location. It is within a short walking distance from the train station, and within a short walking distance from the old city center.
